MTV
Joonbug: Did you ever think Jersey Shore was going to be such a hit?
Vinny Guadagnino: I knew the show would be good because of all of the craziness that was taking place on season one but I had no idea it was going to be a cultural phenomenon. The show didn't even have a title when we filmed it, so we had no idea what it would become.
JB: What's the best and worst part about being on the show?
VG: The worst part is being away from my family and friends for extended periods of time when we film and travel. The best part of the show is all of the opportunities that it has given me in the entertainment industry such as acting and other various projects I get to work on to show the creative side to my personality.
"It's less coooold in the D."
If you're not familiar with T-Baby (a.k.a Latonya Miles), she's the Detroit rapper who shot to viral video fame with her homemade music video "It's So Cold in the D." The video was originally uploaded in 2008, but was recently revitalized by MTV's Beavis and Butthead. Since airing on the show, the video's YouTube views have swelled to over 4 million. And rightfully so --given it's one of the best viral videos I've ever seen. And when I say "best" I mean it's so painfully terrible, it's good. Apparently MTV thought so too. They reached out to T-Baby and offered her $4,000 a year to air the video. T-Baby gratefully accepted and will now get $4k a year for the next five years.
After three pot-driven films, the adventures of Harold & Kumar may have potentially reached a milestone and get their own animated series!
Sure, they're no Beavis & Butt-head (despite their awesome return to MTV a couple of weeks ago!). but we have loved the duo ever since their munchies-induced trek to White Castle.
A source close to the project claims that Lionsgate is pitching the series and networks such as MTV & Comedy Central were just some of the companies showing their interest. The potential project is far from receiving the greenlight, but Deadline reports that returning actors John Cho and Kal Penn are signed on to voice the titular protagonists along with the film trilogy's writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. No word yet on the return of the occasional Neil Patrick Harris cameo, though he most likely would. After all, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle was what brought his career back to life in 2004.
Georgia’s Cartel are weathered veterans of the pop-rock scene, having exploded onto television and radio in 2005 thanks to their hit “Honestly” and breakthrough record Chroma. The journey that brought them from the height of their fame to present day has been as productive as it’s been turbulent, as the band were featured on MTV’s 2007 Band in a Bubble reality show, which documented the creation of their self-titled sophomore release for Epic Records.
While national exposure seems like a surefire recipe for chart domination, Cartel’s second release was met with lukewarm reviews and almost no label support. The quintet eventually left Epic for mega-indie label Wind-Up and released 2009’s Cycles, a more cohesive and well-received record that still largely fell to the wayside due to internal label complications.
To be with Elizabeth Olsen is to be at once starstruck and nostalgic. Her face, strikingly similar to billionaire sisters Mary Kate and Ashley, brings to mind so many memories of "Full House" episodes and "Brother For Sale" singalongs.
But for someone who has barely arrived on the big screen, she carries herself...well, like a movie star. The easy smile, the gentle complexion, and the trademark Olsen figure (slender, though at 5-foot-seven she towers over her sisters) give her an air of glamor beyond her 22 years.
She may have taken herself out of Jersey twice, but clearly you couldn't take the Jersey out of her. No wait, she's actually from Staten Island...she just acts like she's fom Jersey...with a Staten Island accent. Ok, um how does Jersey Shore even make any sense?!
Anyways, back to Angelina Pivarnick, the notorious s**t-talker of the first 2 seasons of the MTV phenomenon. After swearing off the television show for good, the self-proclaimed "Kim Kardashian of Staten Island" is trying to make it in the industry on her own. But not before enduring more drama with haters everywhere.
The beautiful and talented Beyoncé is finally pregnant!!
Everyone must have been wondering when B was going to get pregnant, but now it has been confirmed! The 29-year-old singer performed her song, "Love on Top" at the VMAs and then at the end, rubbed her belly while hubby Jay-Z and friend Kanye looked on. Aww, how cute!
I bet if it's a girl she will definitely be a DIVA! If it's a boy, he will learn all the game he needs from his father.
Congratulations B & Jay!
Meet Chelsea Settles. A 23-year-old young woman, having recently moved to Los Angeles, about to dive into the dog-eat-dog world of the fashion industry.
Wait, didn't they do this with Lauren Conrad and The Hills? What makes this seemingly typical "girl finds self in road to discovery" docu-series so special from the rest?
For starters, Chelsea is not the "typical" girl dreaming of a career in the fashion business. At the beginning of the show's trailer, she reveals her weight to be 324 pounds, putting her in the dangerous zone of morbid obesity. Still determined to make it on her own, Settles moves away from a small town in Pennsylvania onto the glamorous world of L.A. Quickly, she faces the harsh realities of both the image-conscious industry she wants to be a part of as well as the health risks she is taking if her unhealthy lifestyle continues.
Ouch!
MTV's Jersey Shore may be raking in the dough for themselves, as well as the network, to showcase their "Guido" lifestyles of GTL & fist-pumping, but seems like not everyone is a fan.
Preppy clothing company Abercrombie & Fitch has always been accustomed to attracting customers through their cute ensemble pieces and good-looking (semi-naked) models on their ads. However, they are not happy with the unofficial attention being given by Jersey's favorite partygoers. More specifically, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. Perchance this is a nicer way for the company to tell 29-year-old Sitch to ditch the duds since he's not exactly in their target age demographic? Just sayin'.
Are Britney Spears and Jersey Shore's Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio hooking up? Well no, but this picture would suggest so otherwise!
Actually, this image is taken from a Femme Fatale concert, last night in Montreal. The blonde bombshell looked sexier than ever during a performance of her song "Lace & Leather", which fans now know as a segment in the concert for one lucky guy to receive a lap dance from Britney.
Who's the person did Ms. Spears choose for her special treat? Pauly D, arguably the most likable of the Jersey Shore crew. He joined the tour this Monday (in Boston) as an opening act for both Nicki Minaj & Britney herself and will continue to do so for the rest of the tour.
