The CW has confirmed that Gossip Girl will air its sixth and final season this fall. The show that brought you all that Upper East Side drama, sexy fashion, and neurotic characters will end with plenty of surprises in store. The final season promises to reveal the identity of 'Gossip Girl' and will focus on Nate's mission to reveal the secret. Chace Crawford who plays Nate Archibald described the show's ending as "bittersweet."
We also hear Serena, played by Blake Lively, will go off the grid with her friends and viewers will ultimately not know what her future holds.

The League of Professional Theatre Women are presenting The Legacy Project, a tribute to pioneering female producers and the foremothers of the American stage at the Martin E. Segal Theatre. The program is offering a day of symposia on great figures in theatre such as Eva Le Gallienne, Margo Jones, Susan Glaspell, Lucille Lortel, Cheryl Crawford, Margaret Webster, and Hallie Flanagan. E & E Grill House is bringing New Yorkers a new kind of way to eat red meat. On May 9th, they will be launching their 'whole cow' head-to-tail dinner, which allows diners to choose their steaks by the cut. Executive chef Eric Simeon includes both traditional cuts and more eccentric cuts on his menu, like smoked tongue and beef cheek. Using this new style of service, the restaurant is able to provide an education to their guests and give them the tools they need to select the cut of meat the suits their tastes best. Their new menu will have illustrations showing which part of the cow each cut comes from and gives you a wide array of sauces and toppings to choose from to go with it. And let's be honest, this is some of the best meat we've ever tasted. Don't think this steak joint is all about the beef though, everything else on the menu is just as delicious - from their Peekytoe crab fritters right down to their Bloody Mary kettle cooked chips. So come May 9th you know where you're headed!
The new gourmet market and cafe that opened with a bang, Gastronomie 491, recently launched Afternoon Tea. Their afternoon tea prix fixe includes a choice of eight different Le Palais des Thes tea, a selection of tea sandwiches, petite quiche, and mini pastries all for just $24. Mini pastries include a selection of croissants, scones, cookies, and Richart chocolates, of which Gastronomie 491 is the exclusive purveyor of their chocolates and macarons in New York. Afternoon tea will be served from 3-5pm daily and teas and menu items will also be available a la carte.
Just because it's now May doesn't mean that all your activities have to take place outside. This month brings some world class theater productions to NYC and you don't want to spend too much time in the sun or you might miss them (...or burn). I Am a Tree: This play, written and performed by Dulcy Rogers and directed by Allan Miller, arrives in the Big Apple! The show, produced by United Pies, Inc. in association with The Elephant Theatre, is coming to NYC from a critically acclaimed run in Los Angeles, beginning May 25th until June 30th. The show follows are 30-year-old Claire as she discovers family members she never knew existed. She begins to embark on a journey to find her relatives to find out about the mother she never knew but when she finally tracks down three crazy aunts, they all have very different stories about her mother. Performances are Thurs-Sat at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here.
Murray Hill taqueria, Teqa, is the perfect place to indulge all your Cinco de Mayo fantasies this year. The famed Mexican eatery will be dishing out week long specials, as well as bottomless tacos ($30) and drink specials each day.
Come May 5th, there will be live music, a two hour open bar, and a prix fixe menu, which will include the infamous Tuna on Crack, a selection of tacos, quesadillas, chips & salsa, guac, rice and beans, grilled corn, and not to forget dessert. There will be seatings at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm for $100 and an 8pm seating for $125. But don't forget to prep yourself for this Mexican extravaganza! Loreley Restaurant & Biergarten is at it again this season and will be celebrating May Day on April 28th. They will be kicking off beer garden season with Tanz in Den Mai (dance into May) festivities. There will be special spring beers and sausage platters available from April 28th to May 3rd during Loreley's 9th Annual Sausage Fest. But let's stick to what's going down on May Day.
City Harvest hosted An Evening of Practical Magic this week, honoring Union Square Hospitality Group. The charity's 18th annual gala took place at Cipriani 42nd Street and attracted 550 guests while raising an astounding $2 million dollars to feed the needy. Tickets ranged from $750-$2500 while tables went from $10,000 to $50,000, with 100% of the proceeds going towards City Harvest.
