Inside the Genius of 7D's CEO Sasha Devic

After the whirlwind of parties- from the Cannes Film Festival, to New York Fashion Week’s Official Party, (should we also mention the Milan Fashion Week’s Party- voted #1 party in Milan), it’s a wonder that Sasha Devic, one of the world’s leading event planners and CEO of 7D, has any energy left to sit down and have a chat with Joonbug. Luckily for us, even with his hectic schedule, he lets his passion for nightlife fuel and inspire him. Who knew that the young Sasha Devic (He’s turning 25 this weekend ladies)- a former pro basketball player, hailing from Sarajevo, could have accomplished so much in so little time? The answer: He did.

General Idea Has the Right Idea

For S/S 2012, General Idea brought us a nostalgic collection of tailored classic stripes, full knit tops and bottoms, vests, and double breasted blazers with a scuba diver, neon twist. There was plenty of sailor inspired detail, color blocking and unexpected fluorescent detailing that brought the pieces to life. (Think neon soled shoes and collars.) Also heavily featured in the collection was rolled up colored chinos (still going strong off last season) and boyish ties (a huge trend this season).

John Galliano Found Guilty of Bigotry

Sticks, stones, words, drunken honesty...it doesn't matter. You spew out hate, expect karma to bite you in the ass.

Iconic fashion designer John Galliano, 50, has been found guilty of the anti-Semitic comments to a couple he made back in February at La Perle bar in the Marais District in Paris.

The court ordered Galliano to pay 6,000 euros ( or $8,500) today in Parisian court. He was also ordered to pay a symbolic (?) one euro to one of the plaintiffs. However, the 6,000 euro fine has been suspended due to his constant apologies for his behavior, in the condition that he stay out of trouble in France for five years.

GLAM DAMN IT New Pierre Balmain line sneak peak
Balmain plans to launch a more affordable line- Pierre Balmain

Balmain, the high-end fashion powerhouse, is planning to launch a new, more affordable line called Pierre Balmain, come December. The new line will be designed by a separate team than Balmain's main and include both women's and men's wear.

Future efforts will have the main Balmain line concentrating on creating sophisticated and couture designs, while the Pierre Balmain line will be focusing on looks that adhere more towards a general market.

There are rumors that an official launch for the Pierre Balmain line will be occurring sometime in September (probably in order to coincide with New York fashion week).

Check out some sneak peaks from the Pierre Balmain line in the slideshow below.

Leighton Meester By Marc Jacobs

While some were enjoying a V-Day dinner, other were enjoying the Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 runway show in New York. Leighton Meester was one of them.

The actress/singer had a little chat with the designer before enjoying front row seats to the show with Vanessa Hudgens, Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Anna Wintour.

The Roomate actress released a song online last week, Front Row, but apparently this is not a brand new song...

"Song leaked :( didn’t consent. No offense nice song but I did it 2 years ago. Can’t wait for you to hear my actual songs", she twitted.

So when will we be able to hear new album Blair?

XoXo

Editor's Letter: Bidding You Farewell

There is a quiet in our office today I haven't experienced in some time. New Year's Eve and the holiday event season is over and there are only boxes to remind us of last weekend. The events staff did an excellent job producing over 50 parties in New York and Miami for over 30,000 people. It almost seems anti-climactic. I had gotten used to the hustle and bustle from the past few months.
