Happy National Watermelon Day!

Today we pay homage to the melon of all melons...watermelon! Restaurants and bars around the city are whipping up dishes and libations made specially from your favorite fruit.

Two very special dishes will be added to Anthony Ricco's menu at Spice Market in celebration of this special day. Try out their Thai-inspired Watermelon Gazpacho ($8.50) with watermelon, Thai chilies, tomatoes, cucumber, and red wine vinegar. They are also serving delectable Chocolate Covered Watermelon Slices ($8) dusted with crushed, spiced almonds.

Spice Market, Pampano, wd-50 Revamp Their Menus for Summer

Meatpacking's delicious Spice Market is introducing a $48 vegetarian tasting menu created by executive chef Anthony Ricco. The menu includes 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts - perfect for two people to share and also try the best vegetarian dishes in the restaurant. Highlights from the menu include green mango salad with cherry tomatoes and crystallized ginger, avocado summer rolls with sriracha mayonnaise, bbq tofu, and more.

Richard Sandoval's Pampano is offering their first ever 'Sea to Table' dinner throughout July and August. This new five course menu features regional ingredients and preparations from La Paz, Mexico. Local specialties include almejada, wood roasted clams, tamarind, guava, and damiana, a herb-flavored liquor. Dinner is $50 per guest or $75 with cocktail or wine pairings.

In lieu of recent chef firings from modernist restaurants around the city, LES hot spot wd-50 is terminating their a la carte menu and is replacing it with a newly inspired 7 and 12 course tasting menu. Chef Wylie Dufresne created the new menus and who wouldn't want to try them!
