Thanksgiving 2011 Style Guide

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the winter holiday madness known for being the most stressful time of the year. For a majority of women, a big part of that stress is often related to choosing the right look for holiday get-togethers. Dressy or casual? Clutch or bucket bag? A sweater dress with tights or a blouse and trousers? Maybe scrape the whole thing and get a new look from head-to-toe? And this is before we even throw accessories into the mix!

GLAM DAMN IT Sass & Bide
Trends: London Fashion Week Spring 2012

TRIBAL Exotic colors and graphically defined prints infuse tribal inspired designs that commanded attention on the runways. Sass & Bide achieved the look with ethnic beading in bright mosaics on structured tops paired with subdued skirts in contrasting draped silhouettes and solid saturated hues. More is more at Holly Fulton where varying tribal prints in the same monochromatic color combinations pair perfectly and fringe details also bring to mind global textile influence. Burberry Prorsum gives us literal tribal embellishment with geometrical shaped wooden beads adorning necklines and collars. Looks are finished with Far East footwear; braided raffia wrapped wedges with beaded strings draped around the ankles. Spring’s tribal trend is easily interpreted and you may find yourself moving away from the printed textiles (of previous seasons) to the tangible beadwork, which may even inspire you to handcraft a few DIY custom looks.

Is Tom Ford Making A Dream Team?

Speculation is placing Tom Ford in a very desirable position. It's said Ford may be recruiting designers from prominent labels in the industry for his own design team.

Word is that Ford as pulled Caroline Tixier, a womenswear designer from Givenchy, Pablo Coppola, a accessories designer from Alexander McQueen, and Michael Lewis, a shoe designer who has collaborated with Ford at Gucci, Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and Christopher Bailey at Burberry Prorsum.

Wintour's Lack of Interest in Fashion Week Causes Stir

As if people don't understand that our girl, A Dubbs - aka Anna Wintour - has better things to do than, say, Fashion Week.

Wintour caused a stir outside of Gucci Saturday, when protestors in bob wigs and oversized sunglasses came to protest against Wintour in shirts reading, "I will only stay 3 days." Wait. Where can we purchase these shirts?

The protestors were referring to Wintour's decision to stay in Milan for only 3 days, causing organizations such as Moda Donna to change their fashion week schedule.

Beautiful Coats Lack Creativity At Burberry..

Every shearling coat that a boy could dream of made an appearance in the Burberry Fall 2010 bevy. I didn't even notice the rest of the repetitive garments that Christopher Bailey designed. And those velvet and lacey dresses? Prada anyone?

More importantly, who else noticed Joan Smalls [second model from left, below] walking the show? She reminds me of Tyra Banks during the prime of her career. Stay away from the snacks and talk show couches, Joan! Oops!

Burberry in 3-D?

Christopher Bailey will be screening the Burberry Prorsum show in 3-D this season. Though we would have loved to see the knots and ties of Spring 2010's bevy pop out at us - we are still a tad bit excited.

Bailey will screen the technological viewing at select locations around the world to select guests, February 23rd.

But, anyone can view the online viewing - in 2D, of course, on the same date at live.burberry.com
