This July we are mad for Caitlyn Kelly, this summer’s breakout designer whose highly anticipated Swim Collection will be getting a little extra attention at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami for Spring/Summer 2013. A private pre-launch runway event held at an exclusive rooftop viewing last June gave fashion enthusiasts an inside look into the design stars premiere collection and what was to come this year.
Generous cuts around the um...dreier and bust are a recurring theme within the collection and will be greatly appreciated by the well endowed; leading us to wonder if there are future plans to launch a separate line for the more curvaceous fans? The line features convertible bikinis, monokinis, and chic one-pieces with accompanying cover-ups using fabrics from Italy and Canada and manufactured in New York. With some of the monokinis being designed with little support and much flair, only a select few would be fitting for a day out at the beach. Execution in many of the selections are reminiscent of what we may have seen from some of our favorite swim designers, but are still way easy on the eyes. It is the bold solids and tribal prints that give the Caitlyn Kelly Swim Collection its modern edge, making it first rate pool party attire.
About Caitlyn Kelly Swim
Caitlyn Kelly studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York with a focus on luxury swimwear. she began her career as a designer for Badgley Mischka’s swimwear line, along with men’s swimwear for Target. Followed by a brief tenure at AH Schreiber, Caitlyn Kelly accepted the position as Head Designer for Aerin Rose Swimwear in 2011. Her collection is set to debut at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami for Spring/Summer 2013 and will be available at online retail outlets this year.
