Following a miserable heatwave that threatened the livelihood of the second annual Governors Ball, crowds poured off the ferry and onto Randall’s Island in masses under crystal-clear blue skies. An expansion from last year’s one-day rendition of the festival, organizers grew the festival to a two-day lineup and moved it to the more accessible Randall’s Island (although the name remains reason for confusion about the location).
It’s a big summer for Diplo. After gracing us with his bulletproof moombahton-massive EP “Express Yourself” at the beginning of June, the brilliantly-dynamic producer is ready to show off his skills live at his recently announced five-stop “Mad Decent Block Party” tour.
Spanning the country and even dipping into Toronto for a day, each Block Party will feature a full day of performances from Mad Decent’s stellar roster of artists (such as Dillon Francis, Major Lazer, Zeds Dead and more). The all-ages event will also offer food and activities, and is ABSOLUTELY FREE.
Ragers get your sea legs ready, because electronic music is setting sail for a weekend. Hard’s electronic music cruise Holy Ship!! will return for a second edition of madness on January 4, departing from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades for three nights of dance-floor dynamite.
The Bahamas-bound boat boasts an impressive roster, with headliners such as Major Lazer, Knife Party, Justice, Boys Noize, Diplo and a myriad of other music-makers voyaging to a private island in Nassau. Attendance is projected to top last year’s 2,500+ guest list of music lovers who enjoyed unlimited boogying, relaxing and sun-bathing.
Diplo mentioned/hinted at/alluded to his new EP Express Yourself all the way back in December 2011. Since then, all has been silent for the most part. In February, the title track form the EP was released as a single to much acclaim on the Mad Decent imprint. Featuring Nicky Da B, it's a pretty classic take on a bounce track, full of energy and some serious hooks.
Finally, after much anticipation, the EP is slated for release on June 12 on Mad Decent. While this is no guarantee given the long and mysterious nature of this journey, hopes are high for an actual release this time. Collaborating with Nicky Da B, Elephant man, GTA and a slew of others, Express Yourself is sure to set many a dance floor on fire next month.

It has barely been a year since Rusko rattled Terminal 5‘s walls with his explosive dubstep masterpieces, but the English producer is returning to the big apple this summer to serve up another hearty helping of bass to the face.
That’s right dubstep fans, Rusko will be at Terminal 5 on May 13th, once again infecting the crowd with his wobbling and womping breakdowns!
The stop is part of his three-month-long spring tour which spans America from coast to coast, and even dips in to the Great White North for a few nights.
While we boring adults toil away at our office desks in 30 degree weather, a shit ship-load of people are having the time of their lives, bikini-clad in the tropics. Holy Ship! set sail last Friday and pictorial evidence has surfaced of what we suspected was going to be the the craziest cruise of all time. Indeed, it is. With Skrillex, Steve Aoki, A-Trak, Diplo, Jonathan Davis, and Tommy Lee amongst others, we had no doubt this was going to be quite the party. Now there's photographic evidence of what we're missing. Laugh now, cry later? Actually, cry now, cry later.

Diplo is best known for his collaboration with M.I.A in her mega-hit "Paper Planes" which earned him a Grammy nomination in 2008 for Record of the Year. This Philadelphia native has also produced for Missy Elliot, Santigold and remixed works by Radiohead, Britney Spears, Beck and many others. His record label Mad Decent has collaborated with many musical "underdogs" bringing them to stardom. Brazilian baile funk and Angolan Kuduro are a few examples of this. Diplo has worked with various musical genres, going from cumbia to dubstep, to salsa to punk. The musical realm in his productions is huge. And his talent is undeniable.
