GORILLAZ
April 21st is right around the corner and the people working on Record Store Day just posted a complete (and massive) list of all of the releases!
You're going to need some time wade through all of the choices, but here are some highlights:
Animal Collective: Transverse Temporal Gyrus LP
Arcade Fire: Sprawl II LP
Beach House: Lazuli B/W Equal Mind 7”
Bruce Springsteen: Rocky Ground 7”
Gorillaz: Do Ya Thing 7”
Despite reports to the contary, the Gorillaz are still together.
According to Pitchfork, a represenitive for Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the creators of the Gorillaz, the band is still very much together.
The Gorillaz were created in 1998. They are a multi plantium group, with four studio albums under their belt. Their latest album The Fall was released December 25, 2010.
This is the way Gorillaz welcome you to their Christmas page : «Greetings! Gorillaz's little elves have been busy preparing a daily feast of Gorillaz gift ephemera for your jolly enjoyment.
Tis the season to be Mary... Blah, blah, Bah Humbug, blah....! Insert your own jovial Xmas bull***t here.»
Gorillaz are a very modern band. They always bring news stuff in order to satisfy the fan's appetite. I think this is actually pretty cool to take care of the people who contributed to your success. Gorillaz just made an advent calendar. Fans will get one little surprise a day. It could be a video, a game, a wallpaper, or even a funny stamp picture. This is not much but still it is pretty funny. It’s all here.
Yo dawg, Damon Albarn loves working while working. The band is still on tour and the leader is already working on a new album. This is the great thing with Ipad : it even works in the bathroom. So Damon Albarn said : ''I've made it on an iPad. I hope I'll be making the first record on an iPad. I fell in love with my iPad as soon as I got it, so I've made a completely different kind of record." Did he forget to tell us that he worked on an Ipad ? The new album should be released on december, only few months after the succesful Plastic Beach.
You know Gorillaz, you know N.E.R.D, you know the Gibson Amphitheatre, so you know what you have to do. Sometimes life is a simple as that.
We're talking about two of the most creative bands, and they are meeting on stage. This is tour directly linked to the new Gorillaz album Plastic Beach, they named it 'Plastic Beach World Tour'... told you it was simple. This is going to be 'Hot N Fun' but probably too much expensive for a lot of us.
Well sometime quality has a price. And we must confess these guys are way not as fake as they pretend to be.
The Gorillaz are adding another stop on their Plastic Beach tour, the infamous Glastonbury Festival will now feature the demon cartoons after U2 suddenly had to cancel.
The Gorillaz will play on the coveted Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 25th after U2 had to pull out due to a serious back injury to Bono. This will be the only U.K. festival appearance for the Damon Albarn and the Gorillaz, but it will be accompanied by a massive audio-visual spectacle that will completely destroy the Pyramid.
Gorillaz' third album, Plastic Beach, is the latest saga from Damon Albarn, who can also be found as the lead vocal in Blur and The Good, The Bad, and The Queen. Plastic Beach is the follow up to the critically acclaimed Demon Days and Albarn kept the same recipe, a concept album with a ton of guest spots (maybe too many). But those seem to be the only qualities these two records share; Plastic Beach isn't nearly as poppy as it's predecessors and the commercial singles of "Feel Good Inc." and "19-2000" seem to be long gone.

I won't lie to you. I'm a believer. And that title covers aliens, ghosts, and yes, psychics. I'm not saying that when people claim they had an "encounter" or "vision" I'm not skeptical, but I do believe that there is the total possibility all this paranormal stuff is real. Why not, you know? Prove me wrong. I dare you. It's like when I claim that my last boyfriend was in the Gorillaz. There is no evidence to the contrary, so just let me do my thing.
This Thursday and Friday at 7 pm "The Modern day Nostradamus" Gary Spivey is coming to Vegas for a very limited engagement at The Lounge in the Palms. Gary is known equally for his psychic abilities as he is for his outrageous white hair helmet.
The internet has been rumbling since the Gorillaz agreed to headline the third night of Coachella, and now we have received a tiny glimpse into the much anticipated LP Plastic Beach.
Murdoc Niccals reported from his Twitter that "Stylo" featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack has leaked, "My single's leaked! STYLO! If anyone's going to leak my single it'll be me! Listen to ‘Stylo' on Gorillaz.com."
