Beauty lovers, behold! Spring just got a whole lot hotter! (And we're not talking about the weather!) Voluptuous red pouts made their classic marks on seasons past, but they are definitely (and devilishly) here to stay. Luckily, for the spring and upcoming summer season, the perfect red pout doesn't show up to the party alone; she's invited three hot friends: fuchsia, melon, and orange. Because these colors are all so hot this season, we’re going to point you in the right direction of all the kissable hues you just have to get your hands on!
Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster in Adored with keep you feeling fun and flirty while wearing this powerfully pink pucker in. This is our favorite of six luscious shades boasting hydration, color, and shine. Snag it on QVC.com for $22.
The promenade at Avery Fisher Hall became an evening at the cabaret for the Chris Benz Fall 2012 presentation. Glitz and glamour, big hair and bigger fun surrounded the collection; its models perfectly poised on stage with prop-like crates in front of a glimmering gold sequin backdrop. It wasn’t just a kitschy theme. With childhood memories of watching his mother “get all dolled up while listening to The Judy Garland Holiday Special,” Benz believes women are ready to make an effort for that same old Hollywood glamour in their lives. Vintage footage of Judy Garland and Dolly Parton became the inspiration for the collection with the hopes of channeling their iconic spirits into a wardrobe for today. The jazzy, cabaret soundtrack (think Moulin Rouge) put a little shimmy in everyone’s step as we mingled with Gossip Girls Jessica Szohr and Kaylee Defer, figure skater Johnny Weir, and—an icon in her own right—Debbie Harry.
It's finally Fall! Officially. The slight drop in temperature and the right amount of crisp air tells us it's here! Every fall season, we resort back to our favorite scents; scents which stick with us forever and remind of this beautiful time of the year. There's nothing quite like autumn in New York City. Lots of spices, apple, warm vanilla, pumpkin and cinnamon make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. We've come across some scents that are right on par with this holiday season. Enjoy!
1. Miller Harris La Pluie: This scent has a touch of tangerine, lavender, and wheat. An amazing scent for doing something indoors on a rainy day! minnewyork.com has this bottle for ya!
This Fall is all about smoky eyes, thick brows, and bold lips. Don't worry, the colors and styles won't be that overwhelming. Here are our tips on getting the look:
Back to Basics
For starters, invest in a very good concealer, foundation, and setting powder. A high quality canvas is key!
- Concealer: Cover up those dark spots. We love this concealer because of it's Matte finish: Make Up Forever's Full Cover Concealer
- Foundation: Blend, blend, blend. No caking please! We love this foundation by Dior because it's long-lasting: DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear with SPF 25
- Setting Powder: More like, "I'm not going anywhere" powder. We love this finishing powder because it can be worn alone of over your foundation: Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder
Purple is a color that works for everyone. When it comes to clothing, it's arguably one of the most versatile colors and compliments practically every skin tone. So why not try purple eyeshadow? Bright colored eyeshadows can look a little over-the-top at times, but purple is one eyeshadow shade just about anyone can pull off without looking like a clown. (Unlike blue -which often goes so terribly wrong, no matter how subtle one applies it.) Remember, application technique and choosing the right tones is everything.
So if you want to add a pop of color to your make-up routine, but aren't sure what color to go with or how to pull it off -opt for purple. You can find it readily available in varying shades and palettes. Rule of thumb: the darker /warmer you go, the more refined it will look. Deep plums and more warm-toned purples are great for daytime, as are sheer lavenders. In the evening you can go more dramatic with brighter tones. Here, we show you how to take purple from day to night. (And if you still need help, we've included a handy tutorial video!)

We talk a lot about Emma Watson these days. Last week she said she was taking a break from Brown to focus on her professional career and we now understand why! She has just been named the latest ambassador for the French cosmetics brand Lancôme.
Youcef Nabi, president of the company, said in a statement: "Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation. We are delighted by the new collaboration with Emma, who brings a fresh spirit to Lancôme.”
Watson is the youngest ambassador that Lancôme ever had. She follows in the footsteps of Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, Anne Hathaway or Kate Winslet.
Hey Fashionistas! It's our favorite thing- Sample Sales! Today is major as far as online sales go, as Beyond The Rack unveiled TEN new sales this morning! Here's a list, as well as my far-beyond-fab favorites:
1. MICHAEL KORS. Michael Kors' section of the sale is reserved for only his best sunglasses and optical frames! And as I can see, that's exactly what's been delivered. I've actually had my eye on the Hannah Sunglasses in Lilac ($69.99, pictured) since they first hit stores, so now is the perfect time to make them mine!
