If you're looking for a Happy Hour destination in Kip's Bay, you should know about newcomer Kipsey's.
Opened early this year by husband and wife team Arnon and Melissa Margal, Kipsey's is designed to offer homemade American comfort food at diner prices. Moreover, it was designed to get back to the real meaning of the word "diner". “Kipsey’s is what all diners should've been,” Magal said in an interview shortly after the restaurant opened . “Recently the term 'diner' has a bad connotation, but diners used to mean a family operation where everything is made from scratch. And the meal wouldn’t cost you more than if you had bought all the ingredients at the supermarket yourself.”
If you hadn't heard of Kipsey's or gotten around to checking it out, the Magals have just given you another reason to stop by. Their new Happy Hour menu, available daily from 4-7 PM, offers a number of newly discounted drinks. Miller Light bottles will be served for $3, and select white wines will be $4. The reduced prices also extend to their signature specialty drinks, like their Genuine Margarita ($4), Sangria ($6), and their Homemade Wine Coolers, infused with fresh peaches, blood orange, passion fruits, or raspberries (all $6).
If you come hungry, you can order from their specially selected Happy Hour bar snacks menu. A number of their signature dishes, all made fresh from scratch, are now available at Happy Hour prices. Grab a Burger or Pulled Pork slider for $3, Humus Dip for $5, or a Miller and Wings combo for $8. The casual, homey atmosphere and the great food and drink make Kipsey's a good spot to meet friends for some after-work fun. Stop by 438 2nd Ave (between 24th St & 25th St) and see for yourself.
Last call was twenty minutes ago, but you’ve still got a full can of Miller Light in front of you. Just shotgun it. That’s what it was designed for. Dubbed the ‘Punch Top Can,” this new design increases air flow which reduces that pesky glug. It's science! Is this the most important invention since public sanitation? You decide.
This new product isn’t all inclusive, as you see in video below, you’ll still need some sort of tool to puncture the second tab. This is sure to cull an entirely new breed of party tricks.
