Nicola Roberts Denies Calling Madonna Out

Did Madonna bite off a little more than a respectable nod from a certain UK pop sensation?

Any chance to write a story about Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts (labelled by the British media as the strange-yet-ethereal ginger one) is a good thing in our eyes. If you have been a loyal reader of my articles, you need not a keen eye to realize my ridiculous obsession with them.

According to New York Magazine, Madonna’s single "Give Me All Your Love" was prematurely leaked on the Internet, with the completed version to feature Nicki Minaj & M.I.A. Almost immediately, the single was bashed by Nicola fans for its supposed similarities to Nicola's first solo single "Beat of My Drum".

What's Next for Newly Out Zachary Quinto?

This past Sunday, in an interview with New York Magazine, Star Trek star Zachary Quinto had officially revealed himself as a gay man.

The actor - who first got his big shot as Sylar from Heroes - was inspired to come out after hearing about 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer's suicide after nonstop bullying for being gay. Quinto said, "...living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it, is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality."

New York Magazine caught up with the 34-year-old actor again after the news of his coming out hit the public: "When I sat down with Ben on Monday and had that conversation, I knew what I was going to do and it was a very clear choice for me to do it in the way that I did it, and I'm really glad that that's the way it all unfolded,...I never ever imagined that it would be — I mean, I guess I figured people would figure it out, hear about it, but I didn't know it would be like global news! I was like, What? It was really crazy to me. People from all over the world were reaching out to me on the Internet, on Twitter. Social media makes it a lot easier now. I'm just really honored and thrilled and grateful."

Say Goodbye to Short-Lived Paris Hilton Show

Well, that was fast.

Reality show The World According to Paris' starring socialite Paris Hilton, 30, is reportedly cancelled - according to New York Magazine.

It's not like we expected the Oxygen network's reality "gem" to become as popular as American Idol or anything, but damn. One would expect someone with a name as big as Hilton would produce more hype than that.

Due to the enormous success of rival Kim's Keeping Up With the Kardashians on E!, perhaps Paris and company figured a more realistic approach would garner more success instead of her usual dumb blonde persona. The show also feature then-boyfriend Cy Waits, friend Brooke Mueller, and mother Kathy Hilton.

FIRST COURSE Sweetery NYC's emblematic truck.
New York's Mobile Bake-Shop

Where there is a sidewalk, the smell of fresh croissants and cookies in the air, and a cacophanous crowd huddled around a street corner, there is Sweetery NYC. Acclaimed by New York Magazine, City's Best and working with such clientele as the Food Network and Comedy Central, this young company is moving full speed ahead.

Thanks to husband and wife owners Grant Di Mille and Samira Mahboubian, Sweetery's truck wielding freshly made European-inspired pastries, quiches, whoopie pies and brioches is never too far away and is always worth the trip.

Joonbug recently had the chance to sit down with the founders of this ambitious and delicious company.

Them's Foodin' Words! Restauranteur Keith McNally and Food Critique Adam Platt Fight Like Real Men - Via Email

Keith McNally

Oh, you thought all the back-stabby, juvenile gossip went on over in Joonbug's Almost Famous section? Think again, kids. According to New York Magazine, their staff writer Adam Platt apparently wasn't too keen on the scene of Keith McNally's newly-opened restaurant, Pulino's, and didn't hesitate to bash it in his review.

Cosmopolitan Announces Restaurant Lineup

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which has the tough job of being located between the Bellagio and CityCenter, may have just found it's edge against the neighboring competitors.

The two 50-story towers, holding almost 3,000 hotel rooms and condo-style accommodations, feature three pools and over 100,000 square-feet of gaming floor-but Cosmopolitan's real draw will be the restaurants.

Stefano Tonchi: The Next Editor-In-Chief?

Last night when I saw T editor, Stefano Tonchi, at the Steven Klein 30 Seasons of Akris/Bergdorf Goodman event, the last thought in my mind was waking up to hear rumors of him possibly becoming the editor-in-chief of W Magazine.

That explains his grin.

As we previously posted, W Magazine is in a bit of a crunch, parting ways with WWD, and taking some of its senior staff from the magazine with it.

Iceland Fashion Week Proves Disastrous

New York Fashion Week seems incomparable to what Iceland has to offer their fashion gurus. Not hardly. The disastrous week began with a promise to about twenty design students from around the country having an opportunity to show their lines during “Iceland Fashion Week.” Disappointment hits moments upon arrival.

Accommodations started with a drop off at a former NATO military base. Who wants to sleep at an abandoned, isolated war venue an hour from where the show is to be taking place? Not me. And who has model castings at an aerobic studio and shopping mall? And a runway made from bottled water boxes? I don’t know if things could get worse.

Peter Lindbergh Shoots Models Without Make-up for Harper's Bazaar

Fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh has started a war against the airbrush! In April he captured an un-airbrushed, make-up free Eva Herzigova, amongst others, for French Elle and now he’s at it again. In the September issue of Harper's Bazzar, supermodels Helena Christensen, Amber Valletta, Nadja Auermann, Shalom Harlow, Claudia Schiffer, Tatjana Patitz, Cindy Crawford, and Kristen McMenam to wipe of the make-up and brave a shoot without the usual excessive retouching.
