Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, the talented duo known as Big Gigantic is coming to New York City for back-to-back performances at Roseland Ballroom, and we will be there on December 30th! The event is a continuation of their Sky High Tour, which they began earlier in September.
Big Gigantic is notorious for their live stage performances that incorporate saxophone by producer Dominic Lalli and drums by Jeremy Salken. With festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Ultra Music Festival under their belts, this duo is coming at you like a whirlwind with exciting livetronica and filthy beats.
Multigenre producer and instrumentalist, Paper Diamond, is coming to a venue near you as part of his first ever headlining tour, featuring himself and other supporting artists like LoudPvck, Branchez, Gent & Jawns, Manic Focus, with more to be announced. His tour kicks off at Birmingham, AL on January 23rd, and will cruise throughout the country, making stops at major cities like Philly and Boston.

Embarking on a 35-date bus tour across the US and parts of Canada, Zeds Dead brought their Altered States tour to Echostage Saturday night. According to Billboard, the tour is a play on words, suggesting that “’music has the power to change the way you feel and alter your perceptions’ as well as the “states” of the United States that they’ll be canvassing (in addition to the provinces of Canada).” Playing an hour and a half set and being supported by the likes of Paper Diamond, Green Lantern, and Branchez, to say that DC got altered is an understatement.
The Do LaB’s Lightning in a Bottle Music and Arts Festival has quickly become one of the most sought after events in the country. For the past 8 years they have worked tirelessly to defy any previous conception of the modern gathering. Now, with utmost experience and knowledge of the industry, Lightning in a Bottle pushes into its most impressive showing to date .
This year’s lineup includes a slew of genre-defying electronic headliners like Nicolas Jaar, Rusko, Paper Diamond, Tycho, Griz, and PantyRaid. These pioneers of their craft will take on the awe inspiring landscape of the Lighting in a Bottle’s new lakeside location on Skinner Lake in Temecula, CA on July 11th through 15th.
In a move that will make electronic music fans across the spectrum jump for joy, Paper Diamond and Excision are teaming up to kick off 2013 the right way with their North American “The Execution Tour.”
Coupling Paper Diamond’s trip-hop synthy sounds with Excision’s womping bassy beats, “The Execution Tour” will take the unlikely pair across the country and into Canada for four months of musical-medley bliss.
The 59-stop tour will include opening sets by dubstep newcomer Vaski and feature 100,000 watts of bone-crushing sound system power from the “Executioner” video and lighting installation.
Get ready for a tour full of beautifully blended trip-hop and dubstep!
When we think of the typical festival, we imagine sprawling fields tucked away somewhere in middle-America where music lovers campout in the impossible heats of the middle of summer. Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Camp Bisco - they all follow the same logistical style. So how would a brand new festival, in late September, tucked away in the southeast, fare against our learned expectations? We found out last weekend as we trekked to Bouckaert Park outside of Atlanta for Counterpoint Music Festival, realizing that some molds are meant to be broken.
Fusing funktastic live instruments with bass-heavy beats, Big Gigantic has created a uniquely addictive style of music that leaves listeners’ hearts palpitating faster than the band’s drum rhythms. Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken skyrocketed to success in the EDM scene in 2010 and have only improved on their sound since. While their glitchy-drum sound tickles the ear when aired via computer speakers, it’s their animated live performances that truly melt faces.
Joonbug sat down with the DJ duo after their dubstep-crazed set at Bonnaroo and talked about reviving the saxophone, new collaborations and the uber-supportive Boulder music scene.
