Sound Control: Music Technology Awards

Let's face it, despite your non-addictive personality you’re a junkie. A music junkie. We all are; because music is everywhere and we couldn’t live without it. So assuming that our existence (or at least, the better part of it) relies heavily on our musical intake it’s only fair that we pay homage to the mother of all music outlets: the internet. Why? Because the web completely altered the way we consume music. It allowed us to have unlimited access to any type of music, to share songs that we like in a matter of seconds and ultimately to create tunes from the convenience of our own computer.

Find Ryan Leslie's lost bag and win a million dollars

Poor Ryan Leslie lost his bag and is ready to pay A LOT to find it back. What was in this bag ? A laptop that contained every he cared about (you know what it is), $10,000 in cash, and his passport. Some would do anything for a green card as you can see.

The bag was stolen in a black secured Mercedes while on tour in Germany on October 23. It seems that the driver left the car for a few time and found it empty later. The first reward was first up to $20,000... this obviously was not enought.

Ryan Leslie tweeted : "For the record, I had so many amazing music & visual projects on that MacBook that I was working on to share with u this winter."

Turntables, Turn Heads: an Interview with DJ Jesse Marco

He may only be 22 years old, but Jesse Marco is already well-established as one of New York City's most talented and sought-after DJs. His signature style and flair for mixing cross-genre classics, like Led Zeppelin and Jay Z or Michael Jackson and Nirvana, has caught the attention of some of the industry's biggest names, including Tom Ford, Russel Simmons, and Kanye West. Since he started spinning on his first turntables at the age of 12, his passion, talent, and dedication has taken him to the top, with a little help from DJ legends Mark Ronson and DJ AM. Don't miss your chance to get in on the action with Jesse Marco at Joonbug's Fashion Week Gala. Oh, and did we mention that he's also a model? How appropriate.

Rising Star Spotlight: Ryan Leslie

My Protege Charles Warden is at it again: Get 'em Chuck!

If you haven’t yet heard of Ryan Leslie by name, I’m sure you have heard the music he has produced for some of music’s biggest star’s such as: Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Usher and Diddy. Now Leslie has decided to step from behind the scenes and into the spotlight. Leslie is scheduled to release his self titled album this fall. His first effort with Universal was shelved due to the singles performing poorly in the US; however, it was released in Europe on November 1, 2005.

Leslie grew up all over the western United States, moving frequently as his parents were ministers in the Salvation Army. At age fourteen, while attending public school in Stockton, California, he found out his parents were moving once again. Rather than having to attend a fifth school, Leslie decided to finish his junior year and then enroll in college. He then attended Harvard University in the fall of 1994 at 15 years old, and graduated at the age of 19 with a degree in Government and Economics.

Nude Photos of Cassie Leaked

You know how the story goes: first comes sex tape, then comes success. I guess Cassie decided to alter that formula just a bit. Apparently, the R & B singer has a handful of pics that have been mysteriously leaked all over the internet of her in some…not so G-rated positions. Of course, she is beyond upset…blah, blah, blah. Yet conveniently, she still has been managing to promote her new upcoming album. Hmm.

So now that we’ve all seen her goodies (and I’m sure upon reading this there are quite a few of you that will be abusing all types of internet search engines to take a look too), the question at large still remains unanswered: who leaked the pics on the internet? Cassie claims someone hacked into her computer and just uploaded them at will- which is like the dumbest thing I’ve heard all week. However, a few have pointed the finger of blame at producer/singer Ryan Leslie a.k.a. Cassie’s ex-boyfriend. Although I’m sure Leslie has plenty of other more important things on his agenda to do, I can’t imagine how it feels for an even bigger producer (ie: Diddy) to come along and take the love of your life away- and make better…music.

New Artist: Ryan Leslie

Ryan Leslie
Genre: Hip-Hop/R&B
Website: www.ryanleslie.com

Although Ryan Leslie has been around since early 2000 producing and writing for major artists in the industry such as Britney Spears and Snoop Dogg, it wasn’t until early this year that his fifteen minutes of fame erupted and his talent traded that mere fifteen minutes for the entirety of 2008.

In 2005, Ryan Leslie released his first solo album Just Right. Only music gurus knew about or even acknowledged that record, but with the release of the first single from his second attempt, the self-titled Ryan Leslie, he was able to create quite a buzz. His single “Addicted” proved to be a golden child, invading club and radio play lists consistently and providing him with the perfect platform for an album release. With a style dedicated to the use of real in-studio instruments and a sound somewhere between Babyface and Pharrell, Ryan Leslie is giving us one hot single after another, and his growing fan base just keeps taking.
