STREET STYLE
1. Be Katy Perry for Halloween! Everyone loves to dress up like their favorite celebrity, so who better to swag grab from then the couture influenced multi-Grammy nominee whose hottest looks are literally ripped from the runway. The model shown here is wearing one of the outfits shown in a Christian Dior fashion show nearly 3 years before the California Dream star made her first debut. 2. The Geisha theme has often been popularized on both on the runway and among trick or treaters alike. They make great for Facebook pictures and just about every mainstream designer has presented their collection using their own rendition of the Geisha theme at least once. If you're going to spend the time even putting a costume together, make sure to go all out! The late great Alexander McQueen is the epitome of all things theatrical. The model featured in this picture is wearing an item from one of the now archived/vintage collections. If you are still looking for inspiration and Alexander McQueen is right up your alley, take a look of past images from the Savage Beauty Exbihit that displayed McQueen's best work from 2010 through this past August.
Wondering what's new hot and chic in the streets right now? No need to question, we've got all you've been searching for. Now that fashion week is officially over and the season is about to change, everyone is on a constant hiatus as to what is trendy right now. As the saying goes, just be yourself! All over the world, whether male or female, people have begun to step out of their shell and into the streets looking as if they've just stepped off the runway. Here are the basics; drastic, simple, sophisticated or even sexy - how you style your look to make it your own is up to you!
SVICA Jeans released the first jeans wear product earlier this week. The new addition to the Kansas based ready to wear brand is among a collection of customizable designer jeans made exclusively on their online store. The new jeans are featured with zippers on the outer part of the material to accommodate the size and shape of the consumer. The threads are featured in array of bold colors and patterns.
If nothing else, summer music festivals are a great guide to dressing hippie-dippie chic. Bonnaroo and Pitchfork are magnets, it seems, for girls wearing tie-dye and flowers in their hair; who else is the market for gorgeous $500+ feather headdresses and those rad Proenza tribal prints?
The Escape to New York Festival on Southampton's Shinnecock Indian Reservation was no exception, with flocks of girls wearing dreamy, statement-making get-ups that seemed made for patronizing trucks serving cuisine from the Fat Radish and gallivanting around the "glamping" (a portmanteau of "glamorous camping") site. But among the more radically attired (there was a woman in a miniskirt made of MetroCards--we kid you not), there were a few ladies in elegantly understated ensembles that nailed the sophisticated festival look.
Even when you're already running late to meet friends for post-work drinks, the urge to jet home and change from your business attire into something more comfortable can be irresistable. We spotted Sarah walking into a bar on the East Village, having just completed the post-work change into an outfit that is casual but well put together.
The key to her post-work cool lies in the structure of her otherwise laid-back pieces: the pleats on her leather shorts give her a sense of polish, and she pulls her look together by rolling the sleeves of her denim button-down and tucking in the gray tshirt layered underneath.
The look is pulled together by edgy, strappy sandals and thin gold bangles and toned down with a practical oversized canvas tote.
We spotted H.B. strolling around the Lower East Side on a steamy morning, and were taken with the way this handsome fella put a twist on the polished preppy look. He paired a sky-blue J.Crew button-down with mustard jeans, rolled just-so at the ankle, for a surprisingly pleasant and punchy color combo. Then he finished off his outfit with beautiful white bucks from Johnston & Murphy. His Persol aviators and rad haircut add a bit of edge to his clean-cut look. How he's wearing jeans in this heat beats us--but the guy sure does look handsome!

We spotted these three gals at last Sunday's Bastille Day celebration in Brooklyn, dressed in the world's chicest uniform to participate in the event's famous pétanque tournament. The game, which is basically bocce with a French twist, had over 80 teams playing this year, but what set these three ahead of the competition were their lovely ensembles.
No self-respecting francophile would leave the house without beateau stripes, but then they added a pop of sunshine yellow with their skirts (both from American Apparel). They topped the ensembles off with white panama hats and cinched them at the waist with skinny brown leather belts, et voilà: the sports jersey gets a darling makeover.
