SUITS
It’s a cycle that we have all been trapped in at some point in our lives: finding the perfect outfit, ordering it online, feeling the waves of excitement then disappointment, and finally sending it back to where it came from. There are so many flaws with our purchases: the shoulders were two times too big, the waist was two times too small, and the caramel brown we wanted looked like we were wearing a coating of dirt and dust. More often than not, it was all three.
Fortunately online shopping websites have heard our cries and have started going through a transformation. Every day new websites are created that allow consumers to add customization to our clothing, guaranteeing that our purchases not only fit, but cannot be disappointing because we were the ones who tailored it to our preferences. It might be hard to choose just one of these websites, but Modern Tailor has brought customization to the next level by allowing us to personalize our garments in almost every aspect possible.
At last night’s Mr. Porter Suits & Style event, the combination of cocktails, television and fashion created the perfect way to spend a Tuesday evening. At first glance, onlookers walking around the High Line probably wondered why men in check shirts and bow ties, holding big, white umbrellas were escorting people along the walkways. Or why there were women with clipboards manning the roped off entrance; or even why were there 1960s hits blaring from the speakers inside? Little did they know it was a cocktail party and fashion show hosted by Mr. Porter and Vanity Fair Magazine to celebrate the USA hit T.V. series, Suits.
