THE ELDRIDGE
Friday anight was one of those perfect New York nights. The kind where any and everything happened. The kind Sex and the City is based on. The east side morphed into the West side, the early night kick-off-cocktail turned into endless bottles late into the night. Velvet ropes meant nothing, the city was ours and as we teetered in sky high heels, shimmied in flirty dresses, tossed locks of hair as we danced without a care, the night went on until the first signs of day peeked out from behind the skyscrapers.
Of course, I believe, everyone should have such a night and while you can never tell which will be a blaze or a bust until you're knee deep in the VIP section, you can go to all the right spots, tango with fate, and hope the city opens her arms and rocks you all night long.

Kirill Bichutsky has captured one-of-a kind, inimitable moments at NYC hot spots such as The Eldridge, SL, Marquee,, Juliet, RDV, Goldbar, and any other place you can dare think of. NY is not just the only area that has tasted the brilliance of Kirill Was Here. He has changed the lives of party animals in LA, Miami, Boston, and DC with one push of a button.
However, this was not enough for the flashing phenom. It was time to take action and move international. Kirill broke borders and made his way across the ocean. He headed down to the south of France where he invaded the one and only, Cannes Film Festival.
This Thursday Night, nightlife/culture blog, The Downtown Diaries will be celebrating its 1 Year Anniversary Party at The Eldridge.
Not only will some of the hottest people be there but some of your favorite DJs will be there as well including MSB, The Chainsmokers, and Messkid. You know it can't be a party without ridiculous photos of what goes down. So of course, Kirill Was Here will be snapping the night away.
Since 1 Year is a significant time for any affair, we wanted to see how a person finally felt to fill those shoes . Lucky enough, we were able to catch an interview with The Downtown Diaries creator, Kristina Marino.
In an event that’s too hilarious/sad to be made up, Red Velvet at 174 Rivington St. will be the first exclusive cupcake lounge.
Except it isn’t just a cupcake store, it will be the first (and by god it better be the last) cupcake dispensary with doormen. The uber-lounge will feature a pretentious, Eldridge-style door policy, so you better not be overweight and in sweats if you expect to get in.
For those peons among us who ignore the kind of bar that has laser engraved access cards saying “Guest of Matt Levine,” the Eldridge is a year old restaurant where the only way to get in is to be famous or a dear friend of the owner. Guests can’t even bring their friends, according to the owner himself.
Ah, the New York Social Scene, this incestuous, melodramatic beast is always spinning just on the edge of out of control. One member may soon be kicked off the list for having extremely sticky fingers. Paper magazine writer and former assistant to Vogue contributing editor, Paul Johnson-Calderon was caught on tape stealing an off-duty hostess’ handbag from The Eldridge.
Guest of a Guest made waves last Thursday when they posted the security tape screencap of Calderon leaving (escaping!) that fateful day. Management tracked down Calderon, who admitted to stealing the purse but said he had since lost it. He has promised to reimburse the victim over $5,000, which will most likely be coming from the ‘rents. It seems Calderon was one of the lucky few who actually make it past the velvet rope where all the beautiful gather, but will he be able to lie, cheat and steal his way back in?

What agency are you signed with?
Ford Models. I’ve done a lot of runway and print work since moving here, mainly in Europe and also for some US brands. It’s been fun!
What interests do you have outside of the modeling world?
I started a charity to promote clean water throughout the world and I’m always working on coming up with new at home beauty solutions for my do-it-yourself videos.
Do-gooder guests and celebs gathered Sunday night at the Eldridge for a night of donating to Make A Difference NYC. The organization helps children living in orphanages and homeless shelters, and guests such as Rachel Dratch, Kelly Brady and Amber Lee Ettinger showed their support by bringing toys to donate. There was also a silent charity benefit auction. Items up for bid included Rangers tickets, Lia Sophia jewelry and more.
Camille Guaty and Will Forte played host, while DJ Mel DeBarge provided the music.
