Yesterday afternoon, pop superstar and American Idol winner Kris Allen came to Robert Frost Middle School in Los Angeles to kick off Starburst's Music With The Masters Series; which benefits the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The first of three events held in various cities over the coming months included Allen performing his hit single "Live Like We're Dying" with the school band and walking them on a tour through his musical history.
The presentation also featured Allen covering some of his favorite songs throughout time (including Coolio's "Gangstas Paradise" and to "keep the crowds interested," "Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears). He capped the presentation by performing his new hit "The Vision of Love." To top off the event, in conjunction with Starburst, he donated the piano used in both music video and his performance to the school. Overall, the event served as a great kick off to the series in conjunction with which Starburst is donated $250k to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
After 14 albums and over three decades together, Duran Duran might as well have been a living display from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s legendary collection of music paraphernalia. The band has changed and aged over the years, but the same sprightly spirit has remained with Simon, Nick, John and Roger.
Four giant, ghostly white masks hung high above a stage spotlighted a dark shade of blue. The crowd erupted as the house lights dimmed and the band emerged. The boys blasted off to outer space with their first single circa 1981, Planet Earth. Flashing lights resembled the launching of a spaceship and the band performed to a backdrop of stars whizzing by at light speed.
Steve Earthman was the lucky winner of two tickets to The New England Dessert Showcase and now all are able to see his delicious recipe that knocked him into the top spot. It is the perfect fall treat with sweet maple, apples, peaches and pears, the zest of lemon and the saltiness of toasted nuts. It's a delicious healthy dessert to avoid the autumn gain.

Our 2nd place winner:
Anna, (above right) flaunts some attitude in her Current/Elliott jeans, Loeffler Randall shoes, and a classic button-down with her own added twist: demonstrating her personal sense of whimsy, Anna printed "Why can't I be you" mirrored back-to-back down the front. Cute and clever.
Anna is 27 years old living in Beverly, MA. She currently works as a Sales Associate for Barney's New York and has won some excellent prizes from our friends at Beauti Control, DiSpagna Designs, and Lila Clothing.
