With worldwide record sales in the hundreds of thousands; a few hit singles charted; a Grammy nomination to their credit and an international touring history most bands can only fantasize about, one can only wonder how the North Texas area quartet turned "beer is delicious" into a longstanding career.
After five years of being the best kept secret in Texas, with a couple of promising indie releases under their belts, Bowling for Soup got their first "big break" in the form of a major recording contract with Jive Records. (You know: the Britney and Justin Jive Records. Their premier effort for the label, Let's Do It Johnny!! made an initial splash in the UK as a result of some intense road work there. By the end of the album's cycle, BFS was a legitimate club headliner across the pond, and the ripples began to be felt back home.
Then, in 2002, with the release of their sophomore platter for Juve, Drunk Enough to Dance; as the kids say, "shit got real!" BFS had their first in a series of hit singles on their hans with "Girl All the Bad Guys Want." A couple of successful subsequent singles followed, and when all was said and done, BFS had a gold record on the wall, and stood atop the Grammy award podium alongside such pop icons as No Doubt, 'Nsync, Bon Jovi and Dave Matthews Band. They didn't that Best Pop Performance by a Duo of Group Grammy, but as evidenced by their entire career, the fellas were very happy.
EC TWINS | DJ CLUB ROOM ENTERTAINER
Born and raised in the musically historic city of Manchester, England, Marc and Allister Blackham, also known as the EC Twins, began their career in the House Music scene in Edinburgh, Scotland at age 16. They quickly evolved from "flyer boys" to creating and running the city’s most successful club: Eye Candy. The Twins excelled, drawing in crowds night after night continually packing Eye Candy beyond capacity. The initials of the infamous nightclub stuck as they are still known around the world as simply...The EC Twins.
Known for their incredibly infectious high energy shows, the Twins have performed as the opening act for artists such as the Black Eyed Peas, Kaskade, Erick Morillo, and now headline in their respective residencies at New York’s Lavo, Tao groups newest and hottest club The Marquee, and Lavo and Tao nightclubs in Las Vegas, Liv in Miami, and Enclave in Chicago. In addition, they have recently performed at major electronic music festivals such as the Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and the Winter Music Conference.
The EC Twins continue their quest to rule the electronic music world, not only as well respected DJ’s, but also highly sought after producers. The talented duo have achieved top 10 success with their remix of Grammy nominated Andy Caldwell’s “Scream” and Second Sun & Paul Harris’s “Doing It Well” remix which outsold the original 8:1. The EC Twins/Remy Le Duc original track "Say Yes" featuring Shakeh EP, is available on iTunes after hitting the top 40 on the Beatport Progressive House Charts. Their remix with Remy Le Duc, of David Garcia & High Spies "All Here Now" featuring Sarah Tancer, has broken the top 10 on Billboard's Dance charts and is still climbing.
