Founded by Dody DiSanto and Jon Bowers, the 9:30 Club was the home for alternative music in D.C. during the early 1980s and was a regular stopping point for bands touring the east coast.

Quite possibly the best venue in the world, go see a show here on a Sunday night. Sometimes the bands are amazing and the crowd isn't overwhelming.

Donavon Frankenreiter, the combination surfer and singer/songwriter from southern California, will be playing at the 9:30 Club this upcoming Thursday, 11/25.
I first heard Donavon Frankenreiter's music at a Virgin Megastore in London. His song, "Beautiful Day," from Move By Yourself (2006) came on and instantly I was hooked. I asked the employees who this laid back, Jack Johnson-esque singer was and walked out* with two of his albums.
