Scene
Located in the U Street section of DC, the Chi-Cha Lounge boasts a modern style mixed with Latin historical roots. Chi-Cha is known as “chicha” in Latin America. This is a corn-based drink infused with flavors of pineapple juice, sugar cane, and an unknown ingredient. Chi-Cha Lounge offers a sophisticated setting where one can taste the best of Latin cuisine. This DC spot has been opened for 12 years and the building is an exact replica of the hacienda style of owner Mauricio Fraga-Rosenfeld's grandmother’s home. Chi-Cha lounge places an emphasis on the Latin culture but also has a hint of the jazz culture also. Those who visit Chi-Cha will have an experience that is unlike any other.
Eats & Drinks
Chi-Cha lounge eats offer customers a sample tasting of the best of the best. This can be noted on their “Modern Andean Cuisine” which features the tastiest treats from Latin America. For drinks, try the Xtacy martini or one can choose from the champagne or pomegranate Mojito. A mixture of 10 red and white wines is also offered on the list. For those who would like to have a real taste of Latin American, try the Chi-Cha Morada. The Morada includes spiced Latin corn, and pineapples and is said to be one the best drinks in DC.
Ambience
The ambiance of the Chi-Cha Lounge includes red painted walls and chandeliers with small red lampshades hanging down from the ceilings. The seating includes a stained-wood bar with red leather chairs. Extra seating is also available behind the bar and includes comfortable red leather lounges and suede ottomans. Dark colored tiled floors run through out the restaurant lengthening the space. Speakers also anchor the bar so customers are able to hear the DJ spinning the latest hits. Chi-Cha is a hip and unique space that only offers the best in Latin American style and cuisine.
