Lucky Bar has the right idea: keep the bathrooms dark. Drunk people, with their blotchy skin and bloated bellies, are ugly—and they should not have to see themselves in the cold light of fluorescence. Other good ideas that Lucky Bar has: 25¢ wings on Tuesdays, $2 Buds on Thursdays, full English breakfasts and soccer matches on Sundays. But for its many gimmicks, how did this place end up soÂ… wellÂ… boring? Here we are with YPR (“Young Professional Rock”) on weeknights and Top 40 on weekends, TGIFridayÂ's hodgepodge décor, perky table service, and bargain drinks—but whereÂ's the zip? The pizzazz? The balls? Somehow itÂ's all so muted. Do come, but just make sure you bring friends with a bit of personality. The cheap drinks should help bring it out.
