Bar Crawl/Nightlife Event Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:


Joonbug is seeking a full-time Bar Crawl/Nightlife Event Manager in our Philadelphia office. We are looking for true-believers and hospitality careerists who can grow with us! The Manager is responsible for the development and execution of New Years Eve events, Halloween parties, Bar crawls and obtaining new clients for Joonbug.com.  


We launched our  website to become a discovery platform for 21-31-year-old city dweller to go out and have fun. We have 4 sections, Eat, Drink, Party and Do.These sections will feature unique experiences, deals, and fun happenings. You will be searching out the best of the best in each section, calling the clients, cutting the deals and posting the offers. You must be able to hit the streets and make every bar owner your friend, come up with ideas for new bar crawls like an ugly sweater crawl or leprechaun lap. We welcome creativity and hard work. Work with other bar crawls across the country to form partnerships and alliances.   This is a lifestyle job!   


Job tasks include (but not limited to):


  • Traveling to Baltimore or DC once a week (travel expenses reimbursed)

  • Responsible for all in house events from conception to conclusion; including preparing the site for walk-throughs, event preparation, proposals and invoicing, etc. 

  • You thrive talking to a customer and selling them tickets and tables.  

  • Research venues and vendors utilized to assist with building successful events, including but not limited to, booking agents, security, décor, staffing, food, and beverage etc

  • Get on the phone and call 100 bars and get them to work with us!   

  • Able to market and draw a crowd for promotional one-off or weekly events 

  • Hit the streets and get new venues

  • Hit the streets and promote, if you do not want to go to the party and give out free tickets and do a shout out with the dj then this is not for you, if you do then you will have a blast!  

  • You want to be the person working the door of the event or the head person in charge of making the event happen on site. Our events happen on the weekends, you do not care because it is your lifestyle anyway!    

  • Oversee all marketing material production (posters, flyers, email blasts, box/banner ads, maps, etc.)

  • Contact business, sports leagues, and other relevant groups to participate and sponsor each crawl.

  • Hire brand ambassadors, promo models, and staff for each event.


Job Requirements:


  • Must have a Bachelor degree in a related field (PR, Communications, Marketing)

  • Must be a multi-tasker who works well under possible high-stress situations

  • Ability to work events at night and on weekends

  • Exceptional writing/verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated person who is hardworking and responsible

  • Ability to work independently in a small entrepreneurial environment

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop

  • Must have a working knowledge of social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, etc)

  • Candidates must live within 45 minute commute to the office if more then it will not work out.   

  • Hours: Managers are in our Philly office from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm Mon. thru Fri., plus some weekend hours, and extended hours during the holidays.

  • Payment: $35K+ depending on experience. Benefits available after 3 months.
