FUTURE-EXES
Remember the days when John Mayer was talked about on music networks and radio stations for being a talented musician that was able to perfectly blend pop/rock/blues music into one, creating his own unique sound by doing so? Songs such as “Your Body is a Wonderland,” “Waiting on the World to Change,” and “Daughters” garnered him more than just critical acclaim.
They also resulted in winning various prestigious awards musicians dream of winning (i.e. The Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2003,) developing a huge fan base, as well as being played on radio stations all across the nation. John Mayer’s name is still a topic of discussion, but for all the wrong reasons. Rather than people/critics talking about how innovative of a musician he is, he has been stricken with the Kardashian-itis: being talked about because of who he was seen kissing or what female celebrity was caught leaving his hotel room in the A.M.
We can all recall what happened three years ago in February when Rihanna was shockingly assaulted by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown. The singer sat down recently with Oprah for an interview on the OWN network about that fateful night and how it changed everything.
"It was a weird, confusing space to be in, because as angry as I was ... I just felt he made that mistake because he needed help," she said. "And I wondered, who's going to help him?"
"I lost my best friend," she tells Oprah in the interview airing Sunday at 9 p.m. on OWN. "Everything I knew switched in one night. And I couldn't control that."
There might be a potential new couple alert in the making. Singers Katy Perry and John Mayer, were recently spotted leaving the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles after a dinner date.
The two crooners are said to be taking it slow, according to sources, and have been chatting on the phone and going out on dates.
Both have had rough relationships in the past with high profile partners. Perry was recently divorced husband Russell Brand and Mayer has dated Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, and Taylor Swift, all whom have had their relationships targeted in the tabloids due to Mayer's candid way of speaking about his lady loves.
We just hope these two don't do anything stupid. The last thing Hollywood needs is another relationship disaster!
Liberty Ross, 33, the stunning model who has been married to director Rupert Sanders for 10 years, has had one hell of a week. She found out her husband had an illicit affair with his Snow White and The Huntsman star, Kirsten Stewart. One of the many issues with that is, Stewart has been in a public relationship with her Twilight on-screen love Robert Pattinson. The news has hit fans hard and is hard to believe since the duo are frequently spotted together and looking very happy.
Ross, the poor wife in this huge mess, who has two children with the director, opened up only recently to YOU Magazine about her marriage with Sanders, and admitted challenges. In the interview, Ross said that moving from London to Los Angeles as her husband worked on his Hollywood directing career was "isolating." She admitted, "I romanticized domesticity for a while, and loved having a shopping list of groceries stuck to the fridge for the first time," Ross said. "But moving here and starting a life all over again was a lot harder than I had anticipated. I just didn’t think it would be as isolating and daunting as it turned out to be."
We hope that Robert and Liberty and her children find solace and peace throughout this very sad ordeal.Earlier this summer former Disney darling Miley Cyrus remained true to form and sent media shockwaves when she announced her engagement to hunky "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth. In lieu of "shot gun wedding" rumors (a wedding where couples rush into marriage because the bride is pregnant), the young couple aggressively made it a point to say the engagement was out of love --not responsibility.
Let's fast forward to July.
According to US Weekly a source close to the couple explained that Cyrus and Hemsworth are going to put the wedding on hold to expand their family.
After the not-so shocking news that after five years of what seemed like blissful marriage, Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, and according to reports the couple does not have reconciliation in their future.
Cruise was reported to have been completely blindsided by his wife's decision to end their contract marriage and has also filed a petition for sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter.
Holmes has apparently had divorce on her mind for some time, as she secretly rented an apartment in NYC and moved in while her husband, who has been in Iceland filming the movie Oblivion, had no idea what was coming.
The couple who met after Eva Longoria famously divorced her cheating NBA player husband, Tony Parker, are no longer an item, according to their reps.
Spanish hunk Eduardo Cruz (little brother of Penelope Cruz) split from Longoria back in March, but the couple reunited in the spring for a brief period to no avail.
The couple met in February of 2011 after the Desperate Housewives star found out that her now ex-hubby was having an affair and inappropriately texting another woman, Erin Barry. To make matters even worse, Barry was a close friend and wife of a fellow teammate of Parker's.
Looks like Longoria is single yet again.
Sigh. Are there any normal relationships in Hollywood?
Rumors are beginning to surface that former pro-wrestler Stacy Keibler may have done what no woman before her has been able to do: get movie star and famed bachelor George Clooney to commit.
No, not marriage but just as exciting --a baby! (Possibly.)
Star magazine reports that a source exclaimed "People were really buzzing that she was pregnant. There was definitely s bump and she just seemed so peaceful and calm. All her friends are really excited for her!"
It seems as though Ms. Keibler may have gotten Clooney in the tightest head lock of them all. We're sure all for the sake of love though.
Remember when Kim Kardashian 30, got married to Kris Humphries 26, and decided he wasn’t her happily ever after after all, then divorced him after 72 days?
No? Well, that’s alright, the Reality Royal’s scorned six foot nine soon-to-be ex-husband will undoubtedly remind you.
A divorce is dissolution of commitment and investment in two people’s futures which is devastating in its own right without the added pressure of media scrutiny. But that seems to be the predicament Kim Kardashain’s celebrity has gotten her into.
No Holly, we are not talking about you.
The Playboy man himself, Hugh Hefner, has recently gotten back together with his former fiance, Crystal Harris. But the real question is...are they picking up where they left off? Yes, we mean the wedding!
Sorry, but the couple has decided to take their relationship slow and not rush into a marriage.
A source close to the couple had said:
“Hef and Crystal are taking it slowly this time. They’re just getting back to their old groove together, and so far they haven’t talked about marriage or a wedding.”
