Insomniac and EMM Group Partner for EDC NY VIP Experience

It's down to just a day away and just like that, Electric Daisy Carnival New York is here. As it's the first to kick off the summer festival season in NYC, EDC NY will top last year's event and the festival's producer, Insomniac made sure of that. They have teamed up with nightlife gurus EMM Group, the team behind FINALE in NYC, where the two powerhouses will create the ultimate VIP experience for fans on May 17th and 18th at Citi Field.

ECON101: Drinking Cheap in Lincoln Park

In 2003 the Princeton Review declared that DePaul University students were the “happiest” students in the country, and it's not hard to figure out why. The campus lies right in the center of Lincoln Park, an area surrounded by great restaurants, thousands of spandex clad women, and a sh*t ton of bars!

The bars dotting the area around the campus are certainly part of what makes going to DePaul a unique college experience. It's not a house party school by any means. If you really want to dive into the school's social scene you have to get aquainted with the local bars, but Lincoln park has a reputation for being very very expensive and make no mistake, it is. There are however a number of bars only a few blocks from campus that offer not only terrific atmosphere but deals that allow even the most cash strapped students to get slushed.

On St. Patty’s Day we’re all Irish and on Cinco de Mayo we’re all Mexican. It’s that time of year to be Mexican again. Are you ready for tequilas, cervezas, fish tacos, and sombreros? Joonbug loves a well-made tequila cocktail and also loves sipping on some good tequilas. You can't beat a day of Mexican food, drinks, and culture as I’m sure many of you embrace on this festive day. Cinco de Mayo started with Mexican-Americans on the west coast celebrating democracy and freedom at the start of the American Civil War. So how do we survive celebrating the holiday? Webster Hall Welcomes New Weekly Party, 'brite nites'

The longest running nightclub on the planet, Webster Hall, has teamed up with Area Event, an NYC-based production company (who put together Swedish House Mafia's first ever NYC show in 2010) to bring a new Saturday night experience called 'brite nites.'

Webster and its crew have already established NYC’s legendary party with 'Girls & Boys' and 'brite nites' is sure to gain the same popularity in the downtown club space. It's set to be an interactive party experience aiming to bring the passionate dance music aficionados a combination of the biggest names in dance music alongside the stars of tomorrow. So dress bold and brite as you inspire yourself, and those around you, to release their inner ‘lite.’

The first ‘brite nites’ event will take place on Saturday, April 13th and features a showcase of artists representing Kindergarten Records—Popeska, Dallas K, and Charlie Darker. Upcoming ‘brite nites’ events include A-Trak on April 20th, Myon & Shane 54 on April 27th and Super Mash Bros on May 4th.

DJ Hesta Prynn's Birthday Bash

Earlier this week, Joonbug celebrated noted mixmaster DJ Hesta Prynn's birthday at Gold Bar. The night had an epic turn out, with a surprise performance by Vinny Cha$e, who was just signed by LA Reid to EPIC Records, as well as a guest performance by Pittsburgh Slim. ANTM alum and co-owner of The Dalloway, Kim Stolz also made an appearance.

Raise Your Glass: The Manhattan Cocktail Classic is Back!

Part festival, part fête, part conference, and part 5-day cocktail party the 4th Annual Manhattan Cocktail Classic is a “celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture.” Tickets for one of the most sought out events in the city go on sale this afternoon at noon. The multi-day celebration of cocktails and culture is held throughout the city at the most renowned watering holes, across three boroughs. From May 17-21, cocktail and spirit enthusiasts will revel at dozens of events including boozy brunches, spirited soirees, bar crawls, bus tours, punch parties, and a three-day trade conference for industry professionals.

Oscar Viewing Party at KTCHN

Watch the 85th Academy Awards in style at KTCHN Restaurant. Their viewing party will play homage to the first annual Academy Awards in 1929. Enjoy a cocktail hour at 7pm featuring champagne drink specials and complimentary hors d'oeuvres while you watch the red carpet arrivals on the restaurant's 120 inch screen TV.
