Cyndi Lauper, the pop idol that once led a conga line through the streets of NYC, is set to perform at the Silver Hill Hospital Gala. The fourth Fall event will take place at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on Wednesday, November 20th 2013. This year’s Gala will honor longtime supporter and Board Director, Peter Busch Orthwein, and his wife, Beverly, and CNBC anchor, Lawrence Kudlow.
The Impact Network is an organization that brings tools for learning in the classroom to rural parts of Africa. They have created the eSchool 360, which gives teachers daily lessons provided through a tablet and a projector. So far Impact Network has reached 10 schools and over 1,700 students with plans of expanding internationally.
Wall Street Rocks is an organization that helps support our troops and veteren charities. Charities that help the military and first responders in our nation. At this years battle of the bands, the proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project, ReserveAid, and Operation Finally Home, which provides wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen with mortgage-free housing across the country. Over the last two years, Wall Street Rocks has raised over $350,000 for our troops and veterans.
Tonight, Friday November 15, Craig Carton ( from WFAN's Boomer & Carton) will be hosting an Ping Pong tournament to help raise money and awareness for Tourettes Syndrome and Camp Carton.
Camp Carton is a camp fully funded by the Tic Toc Stop Foundation and is specifically designed for children with Tourettes. The camp tuition is paid for entirely by the foundation and gives children the opportunity to fight against their condition together.
Craig Carton is a radio show host, along with Boomer Esiason. Carton,as well as two of his children, has Tourette's Syndrome. Cartons goal is to rase enough money for a possible cure that was once thought to only be a dream. With enough funding, clinical trials could start as soon as Summer 2014!

The Best Fest and Jameson team up to bring you the annual Dylan Fest in honor of the one and only Bob Dylan. The iconic musician turned 72 this year, and what better way to celebrate him than with a 2 night long music festival. It all goes down November 11th and 12th starting at 9 pm. The usual suspects and some new faces will be at the Bowery Ballroom this year to celebrate Dylan Fest. Patrick Carney, Elvis Perkins, Jason Isbell, and Dhani Harrison are among the performers headlining the fest. The show will be hosted by The Cabin Down Below Band as well as a bunch of appearances by surprise guests. Tickets are just $25 and all proceeds will go to benefit Sweet Relief, an organization dedicated to helping musicians in need.
On November 7th, the famous Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg will be hosting over a dozen Japanese restaurants for Aki Matsuri, including the one that brought you the famous Ramen Burger. The theme is "Izakaya", or Japanese style pub fare. There will be two demonstrations: one will feature making Soba (buckwheat) noodles; the other is a Taiko drumming performance by Kaoru Watanabe Taiko Center. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. The auction's items are dinner for two or four at New York's finest restaurants at places such as the James Beard House and Gramercy Tavern. The event will be decorated by Ikebana National with their signature zen floral arrangements.

The Doe Fund serves 1,000 individuals each day by providing paid work, career development opportunities, social services, and classroom education. After twelve months, clients (or “trainees”) graduate from the Ready, Willing & Able program with homes of their own, jobs in the private sector, paying their child support and fully reintegrated into our communities. The event marked a renewed sense of urgency and a call to action for New Yorkers to support real opportunities for those who need them most.
