There's a new contender in the quality rum scene - Caliche Rum. This new liquor is a product collaboration between Roberto Serralles of Destileria Serralles and Rande Gerber. Destileria Serrales is a renowned sixth-generation family owned rum business that has been producing the world's leading rums for over 145 years, including DonQ. Rande Gerber is not new to the scene either, as he is a prominent hospitality and nightlife impresario (not to mention the spouse of supermodel Cindy Crawford).
The bridge and tunnel folks may want to kick it into reverse because there are some intriguing openings that deserve a gander. Take a look at what’s new in the Garden State.

If you've been on the New York City nightlife scene for a while, you'll know that every other week is dedicated to celebrating something mundane yet special that affects our everyday lives. Alas, this week is no different as it is Internet Week. This celebration of everything media has been in existence since 2008, as a city wide festival that hosts an array of events honoring different areas of the web and the digital world.
The first event I attended was a laid back yet event at the W Hotel in Times Square for an exhibit celebrating Instagram photos. Yes, that free photography app that IPhone and Android users were arguing about a few weeks ago on Twitter. And although, the displayed photos failed to be the highlight of the night (the complimentary drinks were, especially a fruity-flavored one: Lo-Fi, and a 6 foot drag queen who wore a dress made out of Instagram pictures and a purse constructed with used metrocards), it was a nice kick-off for the celebratory week.
Never stale, New York’s atmosphere is always changing. Clubs, restaurants, and venues are evolving, revolving and dissolving at such a fast pace, sometimes you need a little held pinning down what’s actually going on. Not just for nerds, techies, friend stalkers, or angel investors! For the past 8 years, Internet week has hosted a series of networking events, meet ups, and conferences sure to appeal even the layman of web users.
