There are countless lingerie shops in Manhattan, but there aren’t many like Town Shop on the Upper West Side. Now, we’re going to go out on a limb and guess that most of you haven’t been properly fitted for a bra. In fact, statistics say that 75–80% of women wear an incorrect bra size.

As a part of Saks' contemporary-wear expansion, the storied NYC flagship formally opened the first 3.1 Phillip Lim “shop-in-shop” with an exclusive launch party Wednesday night.
Nestled on the store’s fifth floor, the 825 square foot space will play host exclusively to the 3.1 Phillip Lim brand. Known for its hip, modern aesthetic, the brand’s space is a welcome addition to the floor which also houses other in-demand contemporary brand’s as Rag and Bone, Vince and Alice + Olivia. Saks’ expansion within this division of women’s apparel was a strategic move, as this area has experienced a boom within recent years and continues to steadily drive sales within the industry. WWD reports that women’s apparel saw over $1.05 billion dollars in sales fin 2011 at Saks, which is over a third of the company’s entire sales volume and the area which represents the store’s largest portion of revenue.
We are biting our nails in anticipation as we wait for these 5 fab new boutiques to open up! From the Meatpacking district, to the Upper East Side, back down to Nolita and Soho, find a boutique opening in your 'hood this summer. And save those pennies, you're going to need them for all the shopping you'll be doing!
Bird, Williamsburg
If you haven’t already been to Bird we’d be surprised, but in the case you don’t frequent Brooklyn boutiques we’re here to tell you to go. They carry all our favorite labels like 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, and new arrival Gretchen Jones just to name a few. There are also menswear collections including (but not limited to) Band of Outsiders, Billy Reid, Paul Smith, and Shipley & Halmos. The LEED-certified Williamsburg location regularly features art and photography exhibits and the occasional shop-in-shop combining creativity with their goods for a shopping environment we could spend all afternoon in. Check out their Cobble Hill and Park Slope locations as well.

With our love for shoes and the now becoming oh-so-trendy sneakers, we happened upon Vanessa and Angela Simmons, the duo behind Pastry fashionable footwear. These two sisters are the driving force of this up and coming sneaker line that has redefined the sporty shoes for our 'girly' tastes! You may remember those days of wearing Phat Farm sneakers in a men's size 6 to achieve that street ready style. There was just something about those that lacked the coveted cute factor.
