Beach themed clothing is now making a mainstream fashion statement in the country’s most fashionable cities. Board shorts are not only for surfing anymore: they can be worn during downtime, or even in the office when paired with a collared shirt. There are only a few fashion brands that employ this type of ‘endless summer’ style in their clothing designs. Loomstate and the shoe brand, Soludos, are a few of them. Soludos' Flower Lace Up, is a classy summer essential that’s a spin on the traditional espadrille. It’s a comfortable shoe you can wear throughout the fall months.
Summer trends are slowly fading; fall is approaching and with it comes an array of new trends. If you’re like most you are anxiously awaiting fall's romantic weather, eager to wrap yourself in colorful layers and stylish add ons. One of our favorite trends of the season, however, is the fierce fur bag statement seen at Miu Miu, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, and Marni among others. Sometimes it just seems like designers like to work together. Whether they come in a bright, colorful hue or something a little deeper they’re each just as furry and cozy, so don’t be surprised if catch yourself hugging your bag more than once.
Mention the word "fall" to a fashion enthusiast and the word takes on a joyous life of its own. As we sadly bid farewell to summer, we say goodbye to all that goes with it such as outdoor BBQ’s, weekend visits to the Hamptons, citrus margaritas (okay, maybe those can stay), and summer clothing. But just because you have to store away that stunning Gucci maxi doesn’t necessarily mean you have suddenly start taking antidepressants. As the summer trends slowly begin to die down, we turn our heads to what fall has to offer and believe us when we say, we’re in good hands this season.
It's an awesome thing when a fad becomes a trend. But let's face it, fashion trends don't last forever. If you're lucky, 5 years will roll by, and some resemblance of what was in then will be in again. But what happens when the trend you're sporting now is stuck with you forever? This seems to be the case with the fashion world's latest bad ass trend, tattoos. From the chic runways of Paris, France to the hipster streets of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York-- tattoos have become the ultimate fashion accessory for both men and women.
Often small, and sometimes in the most intimate of places, women have adopted a tough yet romantic tattooing trend; using ink to rock risqué phrases, pretty limericks, and cute symbols. Celebrity fashionistas like Miley Cyrus and her funky "Da Vinci" heart done by celebrity tattoo artist, Kat Von D, is just an example. But no one compares to Rihanna and her stunning 19 titilating tatts, including the word "love" on her right middle finger and the image of the goddess "Isis" on her lower chest, just to name a few. Other famous tatted starlets include Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez.
We’re sure most of you, if not all of you, have experienced the morning after pain of tired, sore feet that suffered through a night of intense dancing. This is because you are living in the moment--you are queen of the dance floor and nothing will stop you. And then, you wake up the next morning, and your feet, the things that eternally tie you to reality, are really mad.
But for all you dancing divas, there just might be the perfect and fashionable solution to sore and achy feet. Picture a shoe that is sexy enough for a night out on the town, yet extremely comforatable. So much so that you can keep going all night on the dancefloor with absolutely no side effects.
With Summer in full swing, it’s hard to imagine a time when snow decorated the streets or harsh winds forced us to run to warmer shelter. As a matter of fact, the very thought of either is simply cringeworthy. However, with thier fabulous Autumn/ Winter 2013 look-book, Zara has just given us something to look forward to come the brisk season.
The images are enough to bring excitement to any fashionista; the mostly monochromatic collection showcases an array of tartan, leather, lace, floral dresses, vintage prints, structured outwear and fedora hats. Tartan jackets are the number one hot trend to watch this Fall, and Zara certainly has the dashing design down, adding to the 90’s revival theme we’ve seen year.
We all know how hot and humid New York summer's are--take last month's ludicrous heat wave, for example. Through such hard times, it seems preferable to prance through the streets naked and barefoot. However, seeing as that niether are qutie socially acceptable, we rely on light airy frocks for our bodies and sandals for our sweltering feet. But this season, it seems as though the fashion world has given us a new option in summer footwear: cutout shoes. Not only are they on trend, and incredibl stylish, they also allow great ventilation to your poor little (or big; no judgement) feet!
Famed fashion house Balenciaga is known for designing bags synonymous with rocker chic, as their pieces are usually adorned with studs, buckles and zips. However Alexander Wang’s first accessories collection for the company is a far cry from the brand’s classic pieces.
The 2013 Fall collection, aptly entitly ‘Le Dix’, has been stripped down to encompass simplistic details and high quality leather; along with it comes an equally high flying price. The name of the debut collection has a special meaning for the brand. Wang has stated, “Le Dix refers to the original address where Balenciaga was founded...It was also the name of the brand’s first fragrance. It was only natural that this heritage also be translated into a bag for this first collection."
Hair trends have been evolving over the past few years: from mohawks to french braids, to bald to the recent ombre trend. So, what if I told you that going grey, "purposely" prematurely is the new trend of 2013?
Last week popstar and fashionista Rihanna revealed her new grey hair to her Instagram followers. You can also see other celebs rocking the grey hair trend like: Kelis, Nicole Richie, Kelly Osbourne, Lady Gaga, Pink, Mary Kate Olsen, and Kate Moss, just to name a few.
