America's Next Top Model Disqualified

Last night CW aired the season finale of America’s Next Top Model and it was fierce! The last three girls, Lisa D'Amato, Allison Harvard, and Angelea Preston competed against each other down the runway. That was the first time all three remaining contestants walked down the runway.

However, when the girls met at judges for their final panel, Preston wasn’t there. And the panel was held in L.A. The judges announced Preston’s disqualification without giving an exact reason for it and said D’Amato and Harvard would be left to compete for the prize.

ANTM U.S. vs U.K.

After Cycle 16 of America's Next Top Model Tyra Banks promised us there would be no more "normal" cycles and according to NY Magazine, she has lived up to her word. In an outlandish and what some may even call confusing twist, Cycle 18 of ANTM will be a competition between the United States versus the United Kingdom. For those who have consistently kept up with our favorite runway reality show, you are in for a huge excitement this coming season. Seven American girls will compete against seven British girls for the title of America's Next Top Model, talk about glamorous nationalism!

Tyra Banks Gets Ready for All-Star 'Top Model'

Tyra Banks officially announced awhile ago that an America's Next Top Model season is coming...and with a twist: it's going to be an All-Star season!

What makes this news? Take a look at the latest TV spot for the show below and you wil understand. It's no secret that Tyra is not the most, ahem, subtle person when it comes to any creative project she's involved in. Lady knows how to go balls out. Nosebleeds and all. And don't even get me started on that Tyra Banks Show episode where she had "rabies"...

ALMOST FAMOUS Michelle Deighton
Former America's Next Top Model Contestant Hits and Runs

Michelle Deighton, former America's Next Top Model contestant, WWE Tough Enough star, and Jon "Jonny Fairplay" Dalton's wife, has hit-and-run her own grandmother-in-law.

According to the police report, Deighton had gone back to her soon-to-be-ex-hubby's house to pick up some of her things and Dalton had already changed the locks. (ouch) Dalton's grandmother arrived at the scene and proceeded to block Deighton's car, telling Deighton that she was trespassing private property. (gangsta grandma) While blockading Deighton and calling the cops, Deighton smartly decided to ram Grandma's car when attempting to flee the scene. (double ouch)

The Quick Stop: April 5th

Zac Posen's Pop-Up Shop: Clearly Target plans to take over the world - or at the least catch the consumers who love a zingy budget - with more NYC pop-up shops planned, the next being Go International's Zac Posen collaboration. After Liberty of London's urgent pop-up shop pack up before its ending date, Target will be deeming Posen's 24-hour preview as a "shopping party." Aren't there enough parties in fashion already? The pop-up shop will begin April 15th at 11pm, but we expect the line formations to begin at 8pm or earlier for tuxedo-seeking shoppers. Can't make it? Well, too bad. But, if you want the shopping party leftovers, the full collection will be available April 25th in stores.

Magazine Mash Up's

I recall when a reporter asked Andre Leon Talley why he didn't attend a season's Fashion Week in Paris and Milan - and only opted to attend New York and London Fashion weeks - he said it wasn't a wise decision to make within the recession. Yet, he still paraded around in furs.

I also recall the announcement of Talley appearing on America's Next Top Model and thinking, "God, what is Anna thinking?" Talley assured to press that Anna was okay with it, but his statement had an underlying message of doubt.

Andre's ANTM Capes?

Though we kind-of-sort-of hoped Anna Wintour wouldn't allow Andre Leon Talley's appearance on America's Next Top Model - considering that it took eight years for him to finally do so - we look forward to Andre's custom Ralph Rucci capes during his debut not that we're going to actually watch the next season.

Wintour's actual response:

"Fine, André. Just let me know when you’re going to do it and how it’s going."

Or does that mean, "Just let me know when it's over, so you can return back to real models in the real fashion world?" Oop!
About Andre's capes:
“I went to Ralph Rucci when I started this thing. We came up with these wonderful designs that are based on 17th-century Edo samurai tunic-coats. And Ralph, who is extraordinarily gifted, understood my desire to have something that would pop on TV.” This thing? Classic. And we die!

The good thing to come out of all of this just may be that Ralph Rucci may receive his well-needed press and attention. Though we wouldn't put it past Tyra to direct everyone's attention back to, well, herself.
