Last week, artist Steven Colucci debuted his new scarf collection, as well as "Sounds of Color" paintings at The National Arts Club in Gramercy Park. The exhibit was displayed alongside Andy Warhol sketches and was debuted while Shea serenaded guests with festive Christmas tunes. Colucci has been working with The American Cancer Society, as well as the Quogue Wildlife Refuge to raise awareness and funds during the holiday season, and therefore all proceeds from the event benefitted these two organizations.
The Second Annual Long Island Hospitality Ball, to be held this year on June 18th at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY, will bring together more than 150 of the region's most renown restauranteurs, caterers, hotels, wine and spirit brands, music and nightlife entertainment. In a “night of sensory delights,” the event will showcase the sensational food, drink, lights and music of Long Island's unique hospitality industry to benefit the American Cancer Society.
New York nightlife scene hospitality industry big shot Keith Hart, a cancer survivor, organized the Long Island Hospitality Ball inaugural event last year, raising a total of more than $170,000 and bringing together more than 1500 guests in support of cancer treatment and research. This year's Ball will honor three of the regional hospitality industry's most important figures: Tony Greco, Steve Haweeli, and Larry Romer.
On Thursday, May 3rd, the American Cancer Society will host the 7th annual “Taste of Hope” food and drink festival, featuring a massive sampling of some of New York’s most superior chefs and restaurateurs’ most delicious creations. Guests are invited to don cocktail attire while perusing the various tables available for sampling, as they enjoy free wine tasting, sensational drink concoctions, and artful dishes from a range of different ethnic and culinary traditions.
Sponsored by Nespresso, Stoli, Wine Spectator, and many others, the event will take place at 82 Mercer Street, and begin at 7:30pm for general admission ticket holders, and at 6:30 for VIP ticket holders. Ticket prices start at $150.
Derek and Daniel Koch of Dual Groupe teamed up with Aurelia Group for one of their famed Day & Night Brunch events this Saturday, February 25, at Ajna Bar. The Koch brothers explained that, having now carved out their own territory in the New York City party scene, they try to host one charity event quarterly, offering up normally exclusive guest rights and hundreds of tickets to their party this Saturday, with the proceeds from these ticket sales benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Ajna Bar provided the perfect setting for this particular Day and Night Brunch Event, with three gigantic spaces in which guests could mingle and admire the trendy, beautiful Asian, Buddhist, and Antiquity- themed décor.
Lindsay Bard is an ordinary, working New Yorker with a 9-5 job. But she also makes time out of her busy schedule to organize her own charity events for the American Cancer Society and participate in their annual marathons. In March, she will be hosting a charity event in New York City for cancer research. “I lost two grandparents to cancer and one of my best friends has recently lost her father to it as well,” explained Bard.
Bard’s personal efforts will culminate in a cancer benefit to be held this month at Side Bar, located at 120 East 15th Street in New York City. Admission fee is $10, with a one-hour open bar. Proceeds of the event will go to the American Cancer Society.
Derek and Daniel Koch of Dual Groupe will collaborate with Aurelia Group for a Day & Night Gold Standard Brunch on February 25 from 2:00 pm to 7:00pm at Ajna Bar (formerly Buddha Bar), with glamorous Red Carpet functions preceeding the excitement.
Proceeds from the ticket sales for this pre-Oscar themed brunch will benefit the American Cancer Society, fighting cancer through research, outreach, and treatment with more than 12 chartered divisions and 900 local offices nationwide. The event will feature a lavish, “5 star, white glove” gourmet brunch courtesy of Moet &Chandon, Krol Vodka, and Source Water, in addition to a live music set by Madonna’s Official DJ, Grammy-nominated producer Tracy Young, and resident DJ Claudius Raphael. Though this event has usually been invite-only, limited amounts of tickets have been released for sale to the general public.
The American Cancer Society’s Inaugural Hamptons Summer Bash, Festive in Flip Flops, will be held on Saturday, August 20th at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club. Bid summer adieu out in the Hamptons while sipping on cocktails, enjoying dinner and dancing, and supporting the fight against cancer.

The race is on to register your team for Hollywood's 2nd Annual Relay for Life! Come out on July 30th to show your support for those who have survived, fought, or lost the battle to cancer. Relay for Life is a wonderful event that occurs all over the US, and Hollywood is excited to put on its 2nd annual Relay.
Unfamiliar with Relay For Life? Teams camp out at a local school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path for 24 hours. Each team is asked to have one representative on the track at all times, as a symbol that cancer never sleeps. Each person on the team must raise a minimum of $10, but is asked to try to raise $100, if not more!

Brooklyn cool comes to the Hamptons! Don't miss this weekend-long art fair by artMRKT the Brooklyn-based art organizer. artMRKT already has two main location in San Francisco and in Texas. For the opening of their Hamptons section, over 35 galleries will be exhibiting their art work. You can buy your tickets for the art fair here as well as tickets for the VIP Preview Party! Drinks and catered food are complimentary.
Darwin Deez joined !!! (pronounced Chk Chk Chk) to play an energetic set at NYU’s E & L Auditorium at the Kimmel Center on March 31. The event was arranged as part of a benefit called "Dance Against Cancer", a project from the NYU's Program Board, IRHC and the American Cancer Society, which was initiated to raise funds for the cause.
Darwin Deez' delightful indie pop set included tracks off his self titled debut album, which included the released singles 'Radar Detector' and 'Constellations'. They also played a fun rendition of Paul Simon's 'You Can Call Me Al' for good measure and further managed to up the goof factor by including a couple of dance routines that rivalled what the Spice Girls used to bust out with.
