Tyra Banks Talks About Narcissism

Tyra Banks can not seem to make up her mind when it comes to her judging panel on Americas Next Top Model (or as I like to call it Americas Next Top Nobody). First it was self proclaimed first supermodel ever Janice Dickinson, then Tyra brought in British invasion Twiggy, however she wasn’t good enough so Paulina Porizkova was brought in to take her place. Although all seemed well in front of the camera, behind it was a different story; Porizkova was fired on her birthday (April 9th). She claims on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson that she was fired because of “my gigantic, huge ego. Which I wasn't aware of until I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem."

America's Next Top Model

Americas Next Top Model hosted by model Tyra Banks, held casting calls at the Central Park Hotel here in Manhattan where things got a little out of hand. Well actually, really out of hand. Three people were arrested for disorderly conduct and six others were hurt in the stampede that broke out after a car backfired and someone yelled bomb. The police then shut down the auditions because it was poorly organized.

The CW Network that broadcast the show commented that it was “working and cooperating with local authorities.” Reps for Tyra Banks have yet to comment on the situation.

Tyra Puts Height Limit on ANTM Contestants

Castings for the next season of America’s Next Top Model began Saturday in Miami. This year though, there’s going to be a little something different. Tyra will only be casting girls 5’7 and under. Explained the casting director: “Since the show started, we’ve always had girls under 5’7 asking and begging, quite frankly…to give them a chance…Tyra knows a stream of supermodels that are under that size and are very successful, so she said, ‘why not?’

Here’s why not: there are already 12 “top models” who as far as we can tell, are very unemployed (at least as models). Although I have been told they are seen on the runways, casting girls who stand even less of a chance in the real modeling world? That’s just like making fun of yourself.
