Sebastian Ingrosso, one part of Swedish House Mafia, is one of the biggest DJ/producers of our time. For more than a decade, Ingrosso has been spinning some of the most iconic EDM to ever hit the dance floor. Although his solo work can at times be overshadowed by his work with SHM, a supergroup if there ever was one, Ingrosso has quickly built a name for himself without his star studded freinds list.
Beginning his career all the way back in 1999 with Mega Records, Ingrosso quickly carved a niche for his sound. Both in his native Sweden and abroad, his debut album quickly made him a household name.
Man, Miami is quickly becoming one of the go to destinations for any EDM lover craving some awesome clubs and beach parties. With some of the world's best DJs playing just about every night, one might wonder if it hasn't become THE destination. Of course, if EDM isn't your thing, plenty of rock acts are heading to Miami in May as well, so don't worry. Here is a list of some of the shows we thought you'd be interested in. As always, let me know if I missed anything worth seeing!

Miami is quickly becoming the go-to destination for EDM lovers here in the states. After an incredible week-long ULTRA festival in March, the pace has not slowed one bit. Wolfgang Gartner, American EDM's prodigal son, will be DJing this Friday along with Pierce Fulton at Amnesia Miami.
Gartner may well be the biggest name in EDM at the moment, at least on this side of the pond, and has been for some time. Following a slew of #1 tracks on Beatport, a grammy nomination, and an exciting 2011 album Weekend in America, Gartner has cornered and taken over the world of dance music. Listen to his collaboration with Tiesto off the freshly released mix album, Club Life Vol. 2 Miami:
With the insanity of Ultra Fest raging and rollicking throughout the collectively rabid masses, the chaos shall inevitably continue (and expand) with the onset of the weekend! Miami—fully in the throes of musical ecstasy and riotous carnal whims—is gearing up for a weekend of party infamy. It is the inevitable culmination of 10 days of music, debauchery, and the youthful American spirit—a deluge of fiesta!
More than you average, run of the mill weekend; ULTRA weekend is comprised of 21 bashes—featuring the sickest tunes at the most bangin’ spots—in what is truly the most grandiose swan song in Festival history!
Amnesia is known for its extravagantly insane atmosphere, but last night Axtone took the club to a whole new level.
On any given night at Amnesia, you’ll find yourself mesmerized by the reflecting lasers, the sporadic spouts of fog, and the scantily-clad Mardi Gras-style dancers. But last night Axwell, one third of the mega-DJ group Swedish House Mafia, was in the building, and with his presence came a whole lot of crazy.
Upon entering the venue, my eyes immediately jumped to the lighting. Beams of every color shot out from the top of the stage, hitting the ceiling’s hanging disco balls and spreading its light across the dance-floor. The timing was impeccable, as if some mad-scientist mathematician had cooked up the perfect recipe for lighting an electronic music show. Combined with epic confetti explosions and thin layers of fog floating about the lights, this show was an aesthetic dream.
Anticipation has a funny way of heightening an event: both through its capacity to incite a slow-building crescendo of fervor, and in its ability to massively inflate one’s expectations. In the case of Ultra Fest, the hype is certainly warranted—as this monumentally epic musical endeavor deserves an equally salacious array of festivities. It’s a natural compliment—the proverbial jelly to the fest's peanut butter—and for those whose musical and carnal appetites remain unsatiated, there is a cornucopia of bashes (both musical and decadent) that correspond with the inaugural day of Ultra Fest.
Another day, another rager in Miami! As Thursday is the eve of the Ultra Fest, there is an absolute abundance of bacchanal opportunities. With a plethora of huge musical acts at the most poppin’ spots, the festivities shall be flourishing ‘till the break of dawn. Get an early start on the impending musical maelstrom—rage hard and often!
Here’s the low down on all the madness descending on the eve of the ‘fest!
