Meow, the morbidly obese 39-pound tabby died over the weekend due to respiratory distress and pulmonary failure. The Garfield-like kitty shot to fame in recent weeks after his elderly owner turned him into the Sante Fe Animal Shelter after she was no longer able to care for him.
As most celebs do, Meow traveled to New York and took to the talk show circuit appearing on the Today show and Anderson Cooper. Oh yay, how cute, that fat cat is on TV! Not.
We're going to go out on a limb and conclude that taking him across the country to do talk shows did not help his health and most likely further stressed him out, leading to his death. Alas, people are always looking to make a quick buck, unfortunately this time at the expense of poor Meow.

Anderson Cooper has interviewed some of music's most popular artists-- Eminem, Lady Gaga, Bono and Sir Elton John. He has also been a news correspondent for many years, sometimes even risking his life. Now, Mr. Cooper will be hosting his own talk show, Anderson, which premieres September 12th. His first show will feature an exclusive interview with Amy Winehouse's family including her parents, Mitch and Janis, her brother, Alex and her boyfriend, Reg Traviss.
The interview is scheduled to take place this Friday at the CNN Lincoln Center studio, according to Billboard.com. This is the first family appearance since Winehouse's death. Cooper will talk to her family about her problems and how they tried to help Amy get back on track.
Hey Ladies (and gentlemen?), contrary to popular belief, there are still single eligible men left. Well, at least according to New York Observer ,who released their '2011 50 Media Power Bachelors' list a couple days ago. If you're like me and you have a predisposition for loving nerds, you will dig this list. It includes well-knowns like Anderson Cooper, Shepard Smith, and the extremely drool-worthy "Brad Pitt of Media," Pete Cashmore of The Mashable. (Who would be my #1 stalking choice if I was still single.) Honorable mentions go to lesser-known cutie patooties, Jeff Bercovici (Forbes), Tyler Hicks (NYT), and Jason Kincaid (TechCrunch).
