GLAM DAMN IT
Sarah Jessica Parker's Fashionable Fundraiser For Obama

Last Thursday traffic stopped on the streets of the West Village as Barak Obama and our First Lady, Michelle Obama, arrived at Sarah Jessica Parker’s brownstone townhouse for a fundraiser in their honor. SJP and her fashionable counterpart, Anna Wintour, hosted dinner for 50+ guests including a-listers like Meryl Streep, Aretha Franklin, Andy Cohen, Michael Kors, and Olivia Wilde.

The guests wined and dined for $40,000 a plate to show their support for Obama in the next election, as well as show off some fantastic styles. Parker played up her Sex and the City fashion sense in a lace ¾ length cocktail dress and some glitzy accessories including a studded necklace and a large-and-in charge diamond ring. Other guests donned sleek gowns, bright and tight dresses, and suits galore.

"I'm Gettin' Twisted For Christmas!"

I, like many of you, tend to find little joy in the banality of holiday music that streams endlessly through the speakers of department stores during this time of year. Having had the displeasure of working during this season at one of these customer service establishments, I found it difficult to smile through a full days work while listening to the same Josh Groban and Bing Crosby songs played over and over until I feel an uncontrollable urge to bash-in my skull with a metal Christmas tree stand. During a certain season, I discovered a lonely CD sitting unnoticed at the back of a friend’s collection. I immediately brought it into work and demanded the management play it repeatedly over the store speaker-system. I gained legendary status amongst my coworkers as we found ourselves privy to the sweet, melodic sounds of A Twisted Christmas.

Well I got a couple calls from Copenhagen. Apparently it's fashion week over there. My source tells me the city looks beautiful from her top floor hotel suite. I’m sure the people are equally as wonderful. I find that the Swedish people I now are wonderful on the inside and out, and are very friendly.

Cipriani Upstairs

My apologies for taking so long to write. As I said in my last entry, Monday was the beginning of a summer break so to speak, Cipriani is closed until September 2, and let me tell you we stayed until late singing and drinking and being complete and utter drunk fools. It was beautiful. I can’t say it was the best night although “Mr. Big" Chris North was chilling and waiting for a Doors song “any Doors’ song”.

Diddy's Concept

I went to a meeting with Tim Martin at Martin Cadillac to discuss some future projects, and what does owner Matt Taylor tell me? GM has a deal with Diddy to develop a concept vehicle. Now that’s a good idea regarding a new marketing strategy. As we discuss the merits of the idea a secretary comes in and says they delivered the new vehicle. It’s a black on black Cadillac Escalade with a 32″ pop-up flat screen, reclining seats, a full bar in the front console, internet connections and computer links to the flat screen. It was PIMP!!!

Time Mag Names Barack Obama 'Person of the Year'

No surprise here: Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating Person of 2008 is also Time’s Person of the Year in 2008. Barack Obama took the title as announced by Time magazine’s managing editor Wednesday on the Today show. And could you think of anyone more deserving than the President-elect? His motivational motto, “Yes we can” took America by storm and inspired a discouraged country to believe in the possibility of change.

“He hit the American scene like a thunderclap, upended our politics, shattered decades of conventional wisdom and overcame centuries of the social pecking order,” Time reports in its cover story.

Runners-up included U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Chinese director Zhang Yimou.
