Don't Let Your Bikini Become the Enemy

Ladies, let’s be honest. Not many women would dub their bikinis their best friends. In fact, it is all too often that we find the two-piece intimidating, even downright uncomfortable. With such a revealing style of fashion separating us from the rest of the world, this reality is understandable. Although it is completely normal to feel a little bashful when stripping down to your swim-time skivvies, and putting your body on display to the world, there is no good reason to let shyness overwhelm you from trying this outgoing fashion piece. And just because summer is almost over doesn't mean you will be putting your swimsuit away any time soon. (Hello, hot tubs and spas!)

History of the Bikini: 65 Years of Beachy Beauty

Anytime we’re having a bad day or the weather is too cold or we’re daydreaming at work…the first place we long to go to is the beach. Frozen mango margarita in hand, waves crashing at our feet, white sand beneath our toes, a perfect breeze under sunny skies, and a figure-flattering bikini, hugging us in all the right places. Ugh, someone fly us somewhere tropical ASAP! In honor of the bikini's 65 year anniversary (not to mention the countdown to summertime!) here's a look at the short history of our favorite swim style.

16-Year-Old Kendall Jenner's Racy Bikini Shoot

Oh no, it’s the next generation! Just when you thought Kim had ruined the Kardashian name forever (wait, we never thought that, this divorce is just getting better!), one of the smaller “K’s” decides to bare all. Sixteen year old Kendall Jenner has released photos of her Flavor photo shoot and she looks incredible.

The model and E! reality star dons a selection of tiny two-pieces for the racy pictorial, which she shared on her official blog Friday. "The pics were taken by the amazing Sinisha Nisevic at the famous Goldstein House in Beverly Hills," Jenner wrote. "Flavor magazine is a fashion and lifestyle magazine in Paris and it is such an amazing honor to be featured."

LeAnn Rimes Posts Skinny Pics on Twitter

What happened to curves coming back into style? Sheesh, guess I gotta go back to the gym!

LeAnn Rimes recently posted pictures of herself in a bikini on her Twitter account. To say the least, she looked very skinny and in some pictures, her bones were sticking out. Some of her Twitter followers even wrote, expressing their concerns about her skinny figure. Rimes tweeted back saying that she was "perfectly healthy" and there was no need for anyone to be worried. Are you sure about that? Let's hope Ms. Rimes really is healthy and isn't feeling pressured to be super skinny!

In the meantime, let's stop bothering Ms. Rimes and let her enjoy her honeymoon with Eddie Cibrian. If I was her, I wouldn't be worrying about taking pictures! Ha!

Sunbathe in Style this Spring Break

It’s so hot! Well, at least in Florida, and with spring break approaching now is the perfect time to pickup the newest and most stylish swim suit trends of the season. Spring/Summer 2011, brings us all sorts of mixed up styles: one-shoulder monokinis, abstract patterns, floral prints, flirty details, and my personal favorite--glitzy accents. With so many designs and choices, you're bound to find a trend fit for your body shape and personal taste.

One shoulder: Monokinis were first shown by Gucci as part of their S/S 2008 collection. Now a full blown swimwear trend, the one-shoulder swimsuit has actually trickled down from the one shoulder fashion trend. This sexy asymmetrical cut can make you look taller. Choose this style in a solid or vivacious print, and with light boning to keep the bust in place.
