BREAKUP
We know you all didn't see this one coming, but hotel heiress/former reality star, Paris Hilton, has just been dumped by star DJ Afrojack. According to RadarOnline, a source cited Hilton wanting to "settle down" and Afrojack wanting to keep partying as the cause of the split. Paris, who is reportedly going through a mid-life crisis amidst her dwindling popularity and ticking maternal clock was apparently blindsided by the breakup.
"Paris is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that she just doesn't have the popularity or cache that she did five years ago. Paris has tons of money, but that isn't enough for her," said the source. "Look, she is still going to clubs on a very frequent basis and she is 31 years old. You don't see a lot of people over 30 going to clubs, it's almost sad to see. Paris would love to be married with kids, it's all she ever talks about, but she hasn't found her Prince Charming yet."
A star mid 20's male DJ not wanting to settle down? Shocker. Hilton, 31, and Afrojack a.k.a Nick van de Wall, 25, had been dating for 6 months, and he even produced tracks for her upcoming album (to many groans). He also defended her often mocked talent to media criticism just 2 weeks ago: "The thing is with her… she’s like one of the most talented performers I know. She may not be a Celine Dion, but she knows how to perform on stage. She knows how to sing, believe it or not ... The girl can sing."
We're gonna go ahead and put this out there, maybe her terrifying bunions were the real cause of the split?
Summer flings are quite nice. Unfortunately, they usually end once the fall season begins--which is exactly what happened with Blake Lively & Leonardo Dicaprio. The couple, who had been dating since May, called it quits recently according to US Weekly and PEOPLE Magazine. A source close to DiCaprio told PEOPLE that the two will still "remain friends." Yea, yea, yea, that's what they all say.
Perhaps DiCaprio, who is 36, wants to settle down....it's about time! Or maybe Ms. Lively, 24, just wants to enjoy her 20s and take advantage of all the other good looking actors coming her way?
Seems like Leo goes after the same type of girls... Bar Rafaeli, Gisel Bundchen, Blake.. In that case, if you are tall, blonde and model-like, you might have a shot. Get in line ladies!
Seminal alternative rockers R.E.M. announced their breakup today on their official website, ending a career that spanned 31 years and 15 albums. Each member of the band chimed in graciously on the blog post, effectively closing the book of R.E.M. on a thankful, positive note.
"A wise man once said--'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.' We built something extraordinary together," said frontman Michael Stipe. "We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it."
Amidst the controversy surrounding the reported rift between Aerosmith and its lead singer, both Steven Tyler Joe Perry have reported to the media that the absent lead singer will not be leaving the band.
Rumors spread when Perry, the band’s lead guitarist, told the Las Vegas Sun newspaper that, “Steven [has] quit as far as I can tell,” hinting at an industry shaking break-up of the band who has been playing together for over 40 years. When no response was heard on behalf of the singer, Perry commented on his twitter page that the group was “positivly [sic] looking for a new singer to work with,” causing wide speculation about the possibility of a new frontman for the iconic rock band.
Just weeks before the birth of their first child together, Nas and Kelis are engaged in a messy divorce. It’s been less than a month since news of the break-up hit fans everywhere like an on-coming Hum-V. While rumors circulate about reasons for the break-up, (from Nas cheating to Kelis having a sex tape on the low) one thing for sure is Nas doesn’t want to come out of pocket.
Who knows how much Kelis is worth; she hasn’t had a record in forever. Plus having to care for his child, she won’t be recording or making appearances anytime soon. Nas on the other hand is one of the most successful rappers ever. He definitely has the cake to pay spousal support as Kelis requested. But it seems things have gotten so bitter, he’s having no part of it.
Hip-hop’s second favorite couple (after Jay-Z and Beyonce) is breaking up. That’s right; the match that rap fans thought was made in heaven apparently fell short. After four years of marriage, Nas and Kelis are through. At first, this was thought to be merely a rumor, but a spokesperson for Kelis told Vibe magazine that she did file for divorce.
According to allhiphop.com, the spokesperson said the divorce was sparked by irreconcilable differences, including verbal abuse and infidelity. The former couple is expecting their first child and was scheduled to have their own reality show. The show will most likely get scratched, however Kelis is asking for spousal and child support.
Alas, the romance of Chelsy Davy and Prince Harry has run its blue-blooded course. Apparently, the reason for the break-up between the royal heart-throb and his Zimbabwean-born blonde bombshell is the strain placed on their relationship by Harry’s commitment to the military and Chelsy being homesick for Zimbabwe. Seemingly not even princes can avoid the difficulties of maintaining long-distance love affairs.
