Britney Spears (whose music video for "Oops! … I Did It Again" took place on Mars) recently tweeted at NASA's rover "Curiosity," which landed on the red planet August 5th.
BritneySpears: "So @MarsCuriosity... does Mars look the same as it did in 2000?" The rover, which is reported to have a nuclear battery and a laser that can vaporize rock, tweeted back:
MarsCuriosity: "@britneyspears Hey Brit Brit. Mars is still looking good," adding, "Maybe someday an astronaut will bring me a gift, too. Drill bits crossed ;)"
Meet the main man of indi-rock band, A Bad Think, one-man wonder Michael Marquart, formerly of A Flock of Seagulls and Alias. Michael is a talented drummer, guitarist, keyboard player, singer, and producer (pause to take breath) who has been in numerous bands, but has now ventured out on this solo project. Their latest album, Medicine, was released at the end of June and is their fourth studio album. Marquart's daughter, Samantha Marq, has also gotten involved in his solo career and can be heard singing on a majority of the band's tracks. Joonbug got the chance to chat with Michael and here's what he had to say.
Britney Spears has reportedly signed a deal to fill in after Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul left last year. According to E! Online, after months of negotiations and speculation, the pop princess will officially be alongside judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Ried. Reps for the show had no comment, however. Cowell this past March even said he was "flattered" Spears was interested in joining the FOX show but revealed little about the singer becoming a judge.
We hope you join the show girl, you deserve it! Just don't let it become a trainwreck like the last time we saw you on TV in Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
When: Dated on and off beginning in 1999, married in 2002, divorced in 2006.
Why They Split: Jessica reportedly chose partying over playing “Newlyweds.”
Even though Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson are both taken, we miss having new episodes of The Newlyweds every week, so we'd be totally down for Newlyweds, Round 2!
We're not sure which season is more brutal on our hair, winter or summer. Both bring extreme weather and temperatures that make our locks look like a hot mess. From the humidity in the summer to the icy rain and snowfall in the winter, our mane is all over the place. There are some days not even the best products can save our heads. Sometimes it's out of our control. However, there are some hair faux pas we can control (at least most of them).
Here are some hair no-no's that never work, no matter how trendy they may become.
After reading that Bradley Cooper called being People's Sexiest Man Alive "the worst ever" in an obnoxious failed attempt at being humble and self-deprecating, I had to go on a mission to find the dumbest celebrity quotes. Hey people, don't be sad about your life, turns out not all celebs have everything, and that includes a brain upstairs.
As I walked into the EMI building preparing to interview DJ and songwriting duo NERVO, I expected a series of handoffs from one higher-up to the next, until I was finally brought to the tall, blonde twin sisters. Instead, they were right at the front door, chatting amicably with the receptionist. They both greeted me glowingly. "We have to do our makeup!" they said excitedly, as if they were caught in battle without their shield and sword. When I told them this was a written story, they took a slight sigh of relief and joked: "Well now you can interview us while we do our makeup."
Be prepared for a beauty experience like no other when you visit the Parisian-style Michael Fredo Salon on the Upper East Side.
Not only do their gifted team of stylists offer a wide range of services from haircuts to make-up application, but at the top of every hour you will find owner Michael Fredo seated at his piano, crooning hit love songs as well as favorites from his album, “Introducing Michael Fredo.”
Pop star Michael Fredo, a Julliard-trained singer-songwriter known for his hit single “This Time Around,” has performed alongside everyone from Britney Spears to Lenny Kravitz in the past. The nephew of iconic designer Tommy Hilfiger, Michael was inspired to open his eponymous salon when he thought to combine his life’s passions: music & the beauty and fashion industries.
Are Britney Spears and Jersey Shore's Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio hooking up? Well no, but this picture would suggest so otherwise!
Actually, this image is taken from a Femme Fatale concert, last night in Montreal. The blonde bombshell looked sexier than ever during a performance of her song "Lace & Leather", which fans now know as a segment in the concert for one lucky guy to receive a lap dance from Britney.
Who's the person did Ms. Spears choose for her special treat? Pauly D, arguably the most likable of the Jersey Shore crew. He joined the tour this Monday (in Boston) as an opening act for both Nicki Minaj & Britney herself and will continue to do so for the rest of the tour.
Diplo is best known for his collaboration with M.I.A in her mega-hit "Paper Planes" which earned him a Grammy nomination in 2008 for Record of the Year. This Philadelphia native has also produced for Missy Elliot, Santigold and remixed works by Radiohead, Britney Spears, Beck and many others. His record label Mad Decent has collaborated with many musical "underdogs" bringing them to stardom. Brazilian baile funk and Angolan Kuduro are a few examples of this. Diplo has worked with various musical genres, going from cumbia to dubstep, to salsa to punk. The musical realm in his productions is huge. And his talent is undeniable.
