Summer in the city can be tough...annoyingly humid days followed by torrential downpours, no one in sight on the weekends, and the same ol' shtick going on every day. Do something a little different from hitting the nearest bar and binge drinking all night -- check out one of these six great shows going on throughout the month of August. And if you still feel the need to drink till you pass out, well, at least you got some good theater in before the lights went out.
'Cramp-us' is the season of giving! Aloha from Hell, an Xmess in July Pageant of Twisted Talents is coming to you this July 26th; complete with New York's hottest burlesque, sideshow, and comedy performers.
Krampus will take place at Coney Island at 9pm and there will be a special sneak preview as part of Psychobilly Luau at the Bell House on July 15th.
So, what exactly is Krampus, you ask?
Krampus accompanies Saint Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and punishing bad children, in contrast to St. Nicholas, who gives gifts to good children. And there's no better place to celebrate this dark and unusual holiday than at Coney Island. Performers include Tigger!, The Lady Aye, Dave Hill, Bambi the Mermaid, Dottie Lux, Harvest Moon, and Pinkie Special. The evening will pay tribute to Cramps frontman, Lux Interior. Admission to the event is $12 and with that you will be entitled to seasonal spankings and participation in Cramp-us games, including Ultra Twist and Spanks for the Memories. Prizes from Fragioli Liqueur and Sourpuss Brand are also available.

Warm weather breeds aspirations of greatness, especially when it remains throughout the week. When the climate decides to play nice, permit some friendly rays, and bathe the world in luscious warmth, the desire to seize such beauty is paramount. In lieu of the typical weekend decrescendo back towards the “work-week anticlimax," one must salvage opportunity by forcibly seizing the flighty reigns of adventure!
Like an oyster, the pearl of this city is ripe for the taking when the balmy sets in. Therefore, take a gander at the weekly party roundup, and keep the festivities raging throughout the week!
Spring is here, and the best way to celebrate is to glug down tons of beer, learn (and taste) different wines, and of course, watch sexy burlesque dancers do their thing! Okay, maybe the beer drinking is the only thing you normally do, but everything else is sure to be a good addition to your springtime traditions!
