Romantic Cocktails

Valentine's Day is the most romantic holiday of the year, so why not spice up your night with some fancy cocktails? Impress your special someone by whipping up one (or all) of these flirty libations...just wait till they take effect!

My Sassy Valentine (Courtesy of Pucker Vodka)
1 ½ oz. Pucker Vodka Sour Apple Sass
1 strawberry
1 raspberry
Dash cherry bitters
1 oz. soda
2 oz. cranberry-pomegranate juice
Add ice to the cocktail shaker. Muddle the strawberry and raspberry in cocktail shaker; add cherry bitters. Add in all remaining ingredients to cocktail shaker. Shake and pour into a collins glass.

Go USA! Every four years the summer Olympics glue us to our TV's as we root for our team. Amp up your night by trying out some of these medal-worthy cocktails!

Gold Medal Screwdriver

2 oz. Russian Standard Gold
2 each Mango Slices
1 each Lime Wedge
.5 oz. Ginger Simple Syrup
Juice from 1 whole Orange

In a highball glass, muddle the mango, lime and ginger simple syrup. Fill with ice and add Russian Standard Gold and freshly squeezed orange juice. Garnish with an orange wheel and enjoy!

Get Patriotic with Tasty Fourth of July Cocktails

New York City is bustling with great watering holes so it's really not necessary to skip town for the holiday. If you're hanging around this week, check out this list of great 4th of July cocktails served up at great local bars. Sad to be missing out? Don't worry, we also have some DIY recipes for some patriotic 'tails.

Williamsburg’s MyMoon, serves a Red, White and Blue Sangria ($8 glass, $30 carafe) made with Maprecco Vinho Verde (white wine) and topped with strawberries and blueberries. The drink is also extremely aromatic thanks to the addition of Capel Pisco, a floral brandy made with Muscat grapes. Enjoy it on MyMoon’s sprawling outdoor patio.

Drinks & Eats Fit for Father

Give dad the gift that keeps on giving this Father's Day by taking him to dinner at Spice Market on Saturday or Sunday. Not only will he get to chow down on the delicious meal you're paying for, but he will also receive a sample of chef Anthony Ricco's recipe for a 10 spice dry rub as well as a signature grilling recipe. No one wants to leave empty handed!

If Dad is more the bistro type, take him to Highpoint Bar & Bistro for brunch from 11:30am-4pm and dinner from 4pm-10:30pm on Sunday. Dinner is just $39 per person and includes delicious dishes such as pan seared boat scallops, baked eggplant parm, pan seared scallions, and bone in double pork chop.

There's a new contender in the quality rum scene - Caliche Rum. This new liquor is a product collaboration between Roberto Serralles of Destileria Serralles and Rande Gerber. Destileria Serrales is a renowned sixth-generation family owned rum business that has been producing the world's leading rums for over 145 years, including DonQ. Rande Gerber is not new to the scene either, as he is a prominent hospitality and nightlife impresario (not to mention the spouse of supermodel Cindy Crawford).
