CHARITY AUCTION
Hello Gang,
Now that I have had time to take a breath I wanted to take a minute to talk about the amazing Oscar Party that took place at Ajna.
What made me do it ? -
Because Royale Marketing already had an ongoing relationship with the venue, I was in a fortunate position. The very first time I set eyes on the place I knew that it would be perfect to do our Oscars party there. The Oscars is my favorite event night of the year and because of the tragedy in Haiti last year, I did an event called "Oscars For Haiti." This year, because of my own family's misfortune in the battle with cancer, I decided I would do it in association with The American Cancer Society.
If you're not actually attending the Oscars this year, set your TiVo and head out to support those fighting cancer at the American Cancer Society 's charity ball at Ajna on the 27th. The event is to take place at Ajna, greeting guests through the cylindrical slate entranceway. A live auction will take place after dinner, with all proceeds going towards the ACS. Such items being auctioned include a Victor Sabido jewelry piece, an Urban Boulder jewelry piece, a one-night stay in the new Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square, a couture piece by designer Peter Soronen, a gift certificate from celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino, a limited edition photography session by Nicholas Routzen, and a private ballet lesson with Akua Noni Parker (of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater). Tickets are only $85 for a 3-course dinner and an open bar reception, and after the auction a DJ willl spin beats for the crowd until 2:30 am. You must dress to impress, though - the event is a black tie one.
