The James Beard Foundation and the Chelsea Market are getting together again to celebrate their Sunday Supper event. The annual event will be held this Sunday, March 25th. Multiple chefs from around the city and the country have come together to prepare the menu for this year’s Supper. Proceeds raised from the events will go to the James Beard Foundation and Fulton Youth of the Future’s Culinary Scholarship. Sunday Supper will be held in the market’s lofty main hall at a communal table where guests will enjoy a cocktail hour and “lively family-style feast.”

Fun + Cheap Date Spots

In today’s world, a girl expects a lot out of the first date- it has to be fun but not extreme, intimate but not sexual, and it has to wow her in some kind of way (even if it's just the excitement she feels in seeing a great smile). We know these can be pretty high demands for a bachelor on a budget, especially one in his prime dating phase. And even if you’ve been together for years, date nights are a staple for a fresh “young” couple. So here are a few of our favorite (cheap) dates.

DJ Premier Spins at Re:Generation Preview Party

Chelsea Market opened its doors to some of New York's most notorious music talents last night, as film and music buffs gathered to catch a sneak preview of Amir Bar-Lev's new toe-tapping documentary, "Re:Generation."

DJ Premier, listed by The Source as one of "the top 5 producers in hip hop history," appeared alongside the award-winning filmmaker Bar-Lev ("My Kid Could Paint That," "The Pat Tillman Story") in a Q&A before hitting the turntables himself. The invite-only crowd, featuring an eclectic mix of sleek scenesters, hip hop impresarios, and grungy music journalists, was treated to live performances by Premier, rocker and vice presidential nephew Jamie Biden, and DJ pair AndrewAndrew. Hyundai, who sponsored the film, supplied booze, Pop Burger sliders, and tricked-out cars complete with do-it-yourself turntables and video game systems.

SCENETRACKER The Tippler
Chelsea Market Bar: The Tippler

Down in the dark, forgotten basement of The Chelsea Market there exists a 3,000 sq. feet uninhabited room. With ceilings rising over 10ft and brick walls dating back to 1880, I’m surprised no one has claimed this dungeon for a New York inspired haunted house. (I can come up with one or two terrorizing ideas all courtesy of the grimy streets of the city). But forget eerie; this is New York City-- the city that never sleeps, and as such we shall drink. Opening in mid-July, this underground room will host The Tippler, Chelsea Market’s newest venture.

Okay folks, according to the weather channel, today is supposed to reach 79 degrees. And listen, sudden changes in temperature make me a cranky little blogger. So I have arranged for a helpful little pick-me-up for later on in the day when the heat is rising along with my dastardly temper: a nice little walk to the Chelsea Market to snatch me up some fresh fruit iced treats from People's Pops.

What sweeter way is there to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon than with cupcakes? This Sunday, a Cupcake Crawl of four of New York City's most notable and scrumptious cupcakes spots will take place in Chelsea and Union Square.

The Cupcake Crawl starts at Cupcake Café, a celebrity favorite. Know for their moist cupcakes topped with intensely thick, rich buttercream frosting, it will be hard to resist having more than one.
