CHINESE MIRCH

FIRST COURSE
A Worth While Stomach Ache

Last night foodies from all corners of the 5 boroughs gathered together to mingle and nibble on the some of the city’s top eats to raise funds for Slow Food NYC at the Village Voice’s Sixth Annual Choice Eats at the 69th Regiment Armory. Joonbug, for one, should’ve went with a better plan instead of trying to eat everything in sight. We don’t recommend eating Liberian, brownies, ramen noodles, halibut ceviche, and sweet shrimp rolls in the same sitting but we absolutely don’t regret it either. In an otherwise impossible feat in a 3-hour time frame, Choice Eats allowed foodies to sample foods that may have been outside of their comfort zone and not within the reaches of their neighborhood.

The Village Voice's 'Choice Streets' Event Takes Over Pier 86

The Village Voice’s first annual "Choice Streets" food truck celebration was a success. Last night, over 21 of New York City’s well-loved food trucks gathered on Pier 86 of a well-known city landmark, The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Complex. This highly anticipated event was sold out within 5 days, and with all the glorious fare, foodies from all over the city couldn’t help but to fill their faces with a lot of food and many smiles.

DJ sets by Finger on the Pulse, twin brothers Darin and Greg Bresnitz who host a popular food-meets-music radio show, set the party mood for this outside soiree that took place by the water on a chilly evening. That didn’t stop our city’s food enthusiasts, they stood on line waiting for their favorites- sometimes they even went back for more.
