At the 2010 Council of Fashion Designers of America, Marc Jacobs took home the top talent in womenswear at the Lincoln Center. David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone took menswear, Alexis Bittar took accessories, Christopher Bailey for Burberry took the international awards, Tonne Goodman of Vogue took visuals, Kim Hastreiter of Paper magazine took fashion journalism, Ralph Lauren won the popular vote award. The unforgettable moment of the night would be Sarah Jessica Parker’s tribute to Alexander McQueen.

Is Tom Ford Making A Dream Team?

Speculation is placing Tom Ford in a very desirable position. It's said Ford may be recruiting designers from prominent labels in the industry for his own design team.

Word is that Ford as pulled Caroline Tixier, a womenswear designer from Givenchy, Pablo Coppola, a accessories designer from Alexander McQueen, and Michael Lewis, a shoe designer who has collaborated with Ford at Gucci, Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and Christopher Bailey at Burberry Prorsum.

Beautiful Coats Lack Creativity At Burberry..

Every shearling coat that a boy could dream of made an appearance in the Burberry Fall 2010 bevy. I didn't even notice the rest of the repetitive garments that Christopher Bailey designed. And those velvet and lacey dresses? Prada anyone?

More importantly, who else noticed Joan Smalls [second model from left, below] walking the show? She reminds me of Tyra Banks during the prime of her career. Stay away from the snacks and talk show couches, Joan! Oops!

Burberry in 3-D?

Christopher Bailey will be screening the Burberry Prorsum show in 3-D this season. Though we would have loved to see the knots and ties of Spring 2010's bevy pop out at us - we are still a tad bit excited.

Bailey will screen the technological viewing at select locations around the world to select guests, February 23rd.

But, anyone can view the online viewing - in 2D, of course, on the same date at live.burberry.com

No Watson at Burberry

Okay, I know we promised you that Alex Watson would walk in Burberry Men's fashion show after his debut in the label's Spring 2010 ads with sibling Emma Watson - but, that's what the rumors had promised us! He did, however, sit front row at the show (looking very attractive, might I add) with a couple of buddies - some whom have walked for Burberry in previous seasons.

Nonetheless, Burberry continued to dabble its masculinity with feminity - offering lean silhouttes bombarded with voluminous outerwear.

Christopher Bailey expressed his attraction towards utilitarian efforts with staple colors and fun cuff details.

And then there were the shoes, which looked quite dreadful (in my own opinion), but definitely desirable by cold weather standards.

Burberry Discovers Siblings

As if models are essentially being discovered anymore - at least that's not the case when you have a celebrity sibling as face of a major fashion house. Go, girlfriend. Emma Watson recently posed for Burberry's Spring 2010 campaign aside her brother, Alex Watson. Rumor has it, one thing led to another and another and another onto Christopher Bailey's decision making desk - landing brother Alex a spot to walk in Burberry's upcoming fall menswear show. Luckily, he's adorable and has the perfect shoulders to carry a purse - oops, I meant manbag. Now let's toast to a possible blooming career for the young lad.

Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010

Is it me, or does the model in the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010 look book, look a lot like she’s channeling Carine Roitfeld? The stringy rock-fabulous hair, the perch of the inward shoulders, and a stare that lets everyone know that she runs it all. However, that doesn’t take away from what Christopher Bailey has up his trench coat sleeves in this pre-fall bevy. In tow of Bailey’s typical Burbery looks – you know, the pretty little dresses, with pretty little fabrics, to wear in pretty little gardens – this pre-fall season, Bailey sat down over tea with Gaga, obviously to learn everything about her no pants gimmick. Okay, I’m kidding, but the Burberry lookbook did, in fact, divinely don models in finely tailored belted wools, with skin-conscious leggings in lieu of actual pants. In addition to Bailey’s newfound Burberry edge, Bailey became inspired, or obsessed, by World War I uniforms – borrowing from here and there, resulting in cropped trousers, navy colors and air-force aviator jackets. The more the merrier, I say!

Burberry Set to go Live

The sexy, yet sophisticated heritage brand, Burberry Prorsum, is set to broadcast its Spring 2010 runway collection via the Internet on September 22nd. The 6:30 p.m. show will be a part of London Fashion Week’s 25th Anniversary. With the ultra-crazed, front-row phenomenon of live broadcasting, Burberry is giving its viewers the opportunity to share their comments on the collection. “It’s going to be a celebration of British fashion, British creativity, and of Burberry being back home in London, and we are all excited about it,” said Creative Director Christopher Bailey to WWD.
