Following a miserable heatwave that threatened the livelihood of the second annual Governors Ball, crowds poured off the ferry and onto Randall’s Island in masses under crystal-clear blue skies. An expansion from last year’s one-day rendition of the festival, organizers grew the festival to a two-day lineup and moved it to the more accessible Randall’s Island (although the name remains reason for confusion about the location).
Founded by Gary Richards in 2007, The HARD imprint has taken the concert and festival world by storm. Starting out as a singular, but excellently curated NYE festival, HARD has grown into one of the largest concert brands working today. Putting on dozens of shows and events each year, they continue their gnarly showings with this year's HARD Summer Festival, August 3-4, right in downtown Los Angeles.
This year's HARD Summer features some of the biggest names in EDM and rock, including Skrillex, Bloc Party, Boys Noize, Miike Snow, Nero, Bloody Beetroots, James Murphy, Squarepusher, Chromeo and more!
Big news has dropped today in the festival circuit: New York’s Governor’s Ball has officially announced its 2012 line up. For those not familiar with the Ball, it’s a two day fest featuring diverse tunes, a myriad of activities, and all the usual shenanigans that accompany any outdoor music festival. Situated on Randall’s Island—stock prison backdrop included—this fest boasts headliners Beck, Modest Mouse, Chromeo, Ducksauce, and Passion Pit (to name a few). Interspersed throughout the two days, the line-up looks fiendishly delicious, with June 23 & 24 shaping up to be quite the weekend.

Their latest album Business Casua was released last year. Their synthesized sound is often reminiscent of the 80's and can be heard at dance clubs around the world.

We know what you're thinking.
We could come up with a lot of puns on this tour's name, but we will spare you the perverted immaturity. Instead, we will stick to single music reference from a legend who arguably helped spawn these devilish electronica sub-genres, Dubstep and Electro.
Think it's summer time and the livin's easy? Think again.

I went to Electric Zoo back in 2009. Riding the bus to Randall's Island, people were ecstatic -- finally a proper outdoor electronic music festival in New York City. To say that the festival lived up to our expectations is an understatement. Perfect weather and beautiful blue sky aside, the music was grand. Despite the faulty sound at times, (it was a first for this type of festival so we forgave them) awesome DJs had the crowd dancing for 12 hours straight. From each tent came a different beat-- the occasional clubby trance, deep House and first-rate minimal techno.
