Forever 21's new Festival 2013 Capsule Collection is in stores today and features recording artist Sky Ferreira. The new collection is perfect for Coachella-goers, with plenty of dip-dye denim, studded embellishments, crochet, and crop-tops. The collection includes 85 pieces, ranging anywhere from $4.80 to $39.80, so for those who can't afford the upper-echelon of festival wear, this line is for you! We are totally digging the easy bohemian vibe of this collection and it's unlike other collections Forever 21 has put out in the past. With bold colors, lace details, and plenty of edge, our favorite affordable clothing store has really impressed us with this collection.
In a recent spread for the April 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, our favorite style inspiration, Vanessa Hudgens, channeled her inner flower child, which is not a far cry from her everyday fun and free-spirited style and nature. Vanessa states, "I'm a total gypsy bohemian. If I could go back in time, I'd be front row for Janis Joplin at Woodstock." Until time travel is possible, Vanessa seems quite content with attending Coachella, the annual three-day music and arts festival in California. She reflects upon it, stating, "The first time I went, I thought, 'This is heaven.' You just feel completely free. I'm going to go every single year until I die."
The year was 1967 when the world saw its first music festival. It was The Monterey International Pop Music Festival that took place over three days on June 16-18 in Monterey, California. The fest has become known as the first major American appearance of Jimi Hendrix and The Who. It put Janis Joplin on the map in the rock world and saw Otis Redding perform and break traditions. Monterey would shape the mold for future music festivals such as Woodstock in 1969 and every other music festival to come after. It's been years in the making, but the music festival continues to be ever evolving.
Two great bands. One amazing collaboration. Atoms for Peace, comprised of bassist Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Radiohead singer Tom Yorke along with producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco will come together again but to make an album AMOK, slated for an early release next year, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
The group first performed at the Coachella Music Festival back in 2010, and released a single "Default" in September. The group got a huge response and the nine track album will has been in the works for years according to the magazine.
Currently both bands are on tour and both bands released albums back in 2011. Get ready to hear this collaboration in early 2013.

LA-based DJ and producer (not to mention Burning Man veteran) Stephan Jacobs has been dubbed one of the "most promising DJs coming out of the West Coast bass music scene." Currently releasing music under a variety of aliases in addition to perfecting his own individual sound, Jacobs is a prime example of versatility. An original member of the Headtron crew, he's best known for his live sets and high-energy orginal production style.
AM: Can you tell us about your early days starting out as a DJ and producer?
It’s been a historic year for electronic music.
Last October we watched Tiesto rake in record-breaking numbers when he headlined the largest single DJ event in US history at The Home Depot Center. Kaskade followed suit this summer when he became the first EDM artist to solo-headline and sellout The Staples Center. And now it’s Avicii’s turn to play pioneer - the Swedish producer will become the first EDM act to headline New York's iconic Radio City Music Hall when he takes to the decks at his show on September 27.
