Tonight: The Premiere of 24 Hour CatWalk

Well not a catwalk, exactly. Lifetime debuts its newest fashion baby “24 Hour Catwalk” tonight at 9pm. Unlike most recent fashion reality shows Catwalk is said to take a different approach on the fashion world, and leave designers and viewers craving for more. Each week four designers will have exactly 24 hours to create a collection of their own (no typo!). With only a mere day to create a collection, we're sure to see a lot of drama, emotions, and most importantly cat fights!

Cynthia Rowley & Bloomingdale’s Benefit for Children's Museum of the Arts

We're big fans of Cynthia Rowley, beautiful clothes, killer handbags --what's not to love? To top it off, Cynthia cares, which only adds to our revere for her. So when we heard she was teaming with Bloomingdale's for a benefit for Children's Museum of the Arts, to support the school's community outreach programs, we were thrilled! Great shopping, beautiful art, and a great cause? Sold!

From October 24 through November 2 , a series of events will kick off. The events will include artworks to be featured in CMA’s Art Auction 2011 (Nov. 2). And when we say art, we mean legit art by Andy Warhol, Cecily Brown, William Quigley, Yoko Ono, James Nares and 95 other artists! And if that wasn't enough to entice you, Cynthia Rowley will be having an exclusive in-store trunk show of her Fall 2011 Collection from Wednesday, October 26 to Saturday, October 29 during normal store hours. Additionally, the designer’s original fashion sketches will also be available for purchase, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support CMA.

The debut party will be hosted at Bloomingdale’s SoHo (504 Broadway)on Wednesday, October 26, 6-8pm. Meet Cynthia and shop the night away as 10% of the sales will go to support Children’s Museum of the Arts.

Cynthia Rowley Gets Flirty + Futuristic for Spring '12

Cynthia Rowley was one of the first designer brands (along with DKNY) I bought when I came to visit NYC for the first time when I was fourteen. For that reason, she holds a nostalgic place in my heart. For S/S 2012 her collection goes modern and flirty with a futuristic twist. The models were alien-like in appearance --and I mean that in that they were cast appropriately for the line! The patterns and colors were unexpected. She took a completely different route than any other line, which was very refreshing.

The pieces ranged from extremely simple (basic white blouses) to intricate and complicated with a lot of pattern. The fabrics, for the most part, where light and flowing, with the exception of a few "futuristic" pieces which were embellished with metal. The color palette overall was fairly dark and subdued for a spring collection. The line was accessorized with ultra-gold metallic stilettos and strappy black sandals. My favorite was the white, full skirt polka dot dress and the black chinos with the red cuff detail. Check out the show below!
