Tricky @ Brooklyn Bowl on December 10

The Trip Hop pioneer will perform at Brooklyn Bowl. Trip Hop is a twenty year old music genre that combines a Hip Hop base with pretty much everything. It is often a dark, enchanting music.

Tricky used to be a member of Massive Attack a long time ago. He has made several solo albums. They were all acclaimed by the public and the media. You probably remember this old hit.

This guy has a unique way to bring you into his very personal dark world. He has made many duets with people such as PJ Harvey, Howie B, Damon Albarn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Grace Jones, and many more...

Damon Albarn (Gorillaz) LUV his Ipad : probably a new record on december already

Yo dawg, Damon Albarn loves working while working. The band is still on tour and the leader is already working on a new album. This is the great thing with Ipad : it even works in the bathroom. So Damon Albarn said : ''I've made it on an iPad. I hope I'll be making the first record on an iPad. I fell in love with my iPad as soon as I got it, so I've made a completely different kind of record." Did he forget to tell us that he worked on an Ipad ? The new album should be released on december, only few months after the succesful Plastic Beach.

Gary Spencer: The Beginning of David McAlmont

Hello Gang!

Well its been quite a week here in Spencerland !

I
think what I would like to do with this week's article is spend most of it talking about the amazing visit to New York from British Vocalist David McAlmont, yeah thats what I would like to do, but I know that you want to hear about much more than that, so lets get the nightlife stuff out of the way, and then we will get back to Mr Mc.

Gorillaz' "Plastic Beach"

Gorillaz' third album, Plastic Beach, is the latest saga from Damon Albarn, who can also be found as the lead vocal in Blur and The Good, The Bad, and The Queen. Plastic Beach is the follow up to the critically acclaimed Demon Days and Albarn kept the same recipe, a concept album with a ton of guest spots (maybe too many). But those seem to be the only qualities these two records share; Plastic Beach isn't nearly as poppy as it's predecessors and the commercial singles of "Feel Good Inc." and "19-2000" seem to be long gone.

The Synergy of Sidekicks Charles Hamilton and Josh Madden

Although we were sad to see Charles Hamilton leave the music scene, his return and release of his latest creation Normalcy more then made up for it. And now, alongside with Josh Madden spinning the records, the tag team will tear up the opening night at our Fashion Week Gala event at Capitale. Renowned DJ Josh Madden is the perfect complimentary sidekick to match the energy of Sonic The Hamilton. Not only is DJ Josh Madden touring the U.S., he is also a stylist and co-founder of the clothing label DCMA Collective. Talk about the interwining of music and fashion! We were able to get some answers as to what make these two tick.

Damon Albarn: Top Contender for Olympic Art Director

Damon Albarn, frontman for Blur and Gorillaz, is on the top of the list for artistic director of the 2012 Olympics in London, the Independent reports. This would make Albarn responsible for all non-competition visuals including the opening ceremonies, which have become extraordinarily extravagant in the past few Olympic seasons. Also in high contention for the position is Stephen Daldry, the Oscar-nominated director of Billy Elliott.

Blur Reunites

After a nine-year hiatus, Blur, the English band of a generation, will make their royal return at London’s Hyde Park on July 3. In America, these blokes made their breakthrough with “Song 2” in 1997, but across the Atlantic they’ve been “feeling the heavy metal” since 1989. Consequently, their 7-album career has built nothing short of an army of followers. Following the announcement, the legion of frenzied fans blogged about their excitement, proclaiming the reunion an absolute fantasy turned reality.

Despite Blur’s extraordinary success, they’ve dealt with a fair amount of setbacks, the most prominent being front man Damon Albarn and bassist Graham Coxon’s on-going power struggle. Fortunately, the passage of time brought reconciliation for those two and the opportunity to experience the gig of a lifetime for the rest.
