Haute Off the Press: Versace Vixen for F/W ‘12

As we saw during February’s Fashion Week, Versace’s fall/winter 2012/2013 collection is filled with leather, studs, and fishnet stockings. The designs along with the harsh bang-lines and cat eye makeup made for a dark, rocker-chic show, and as far as their ad campaign goes, they have just bumped that ambiance up another couple of notches. The combination of model melancholy brilliantly expressed by Elza Luijendijk, photography work by the ultimate duo- Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and Joe McKenna’s styling, made for a dark, gothic-chic ad campaign.

2011's Best Fashion Moments

2011 has been an incredible year, sartorially speaking. From Anne Hathaway's eight costume changes at the Academy Awards to Diane Kruger...well, whenever the woman puts on clothes, a few of the ladies that didn't make the cut were this close. Ultimately, we decided that the criteria to make Joonbug's "Top Looks of 2011" list lay within three very simple (and very visible) requirements: originality, memorability and game-change factor. Once we began to whittle down our large list, we found that very few looks - no matter how much we loved them - fit these requirements.

GLAM DAMN IT Versace for H&M
Versace for H&M is Coming this November!

Talk about fashion mayhem! After Target released a new line featuring Italian designer Missoni on September 13th, not only did crazed fashionistas clear the racks of their local Targets, but they also managed to crash the Target website all in one day! The goal was to provide fashion savvy individuals with great designer styles at affordable prices. While they did just that, the designers did not expect for the entire collection to sell out that quickly. With markup prices ranging from 25% to 400%, people are now paying big bucks on eBay for the Missoni Target line. This counteracts the plan of creating a designer clothing collection at a discounted price. In this collection for Target, you can tell it’s Missoni from a mile away, with it’s bright zigzag patterns and bold colors. The collection includes over 400 pieces, from boots to bags, knits and flats, to make-up accessories and home and kitchenware items. Now available only on eBay, if you want to spend more than double the retail price that is.

Another Dream Pairing: Versace for H&M

Whenever a high-end designer collaborates with an affordable brand, it's a fashion pairing made in heaven. (As with Lanvin for H&M.) We love this new trend and hope it continues! For the first time in history, we're able to get high-end styles at prices that don't break the bank. What more could a girl ask for? To our delight, H&M made the official announcement on Tuesday that they will be collaborating with Donatella Versace for Fall '11. The collection is set to launch in November and we can't wait to beat down the doors of H&M to get our hands on it.

2 Things To Buy This Week!

Tea Time: Now enjoy your favorite designers with a cup of tea. German shop, Donkey Products, has released a small collection of tea bags attached to the bodies of designers, including Karl Lagerfeld, Donatella Versace, Jean-Paul Gaultier and more. We wonder why they didn't fit Alber Elbaz on to one of those things?

The teabags are priced at $10, but we're sure the real excitement will come from shopping on the website attempting to decipher German.

Time To Get Busy: We confess that we are major Twitter fans, so when The Cobra Snake tweeted a photo of condoms he was gifted by Proper Attire, we knew we had to add them to this week's shopping list. Even better, the condoms are designed by Jeremy Scott - who by the way, tweets away too.

Karl's Puppet, Baptiste, On to Make An Album?

"There is no other model in the business like him. [He's] perfect when dressed and stunning undressed." - Karl Lagerfeld on model, Baptiste Giabiconi.

Exactly what kind of relationship do Lagerfeld and Giaconi have? We're still trying to figure it out ourselves.

However, with the slip of a few hinted words from the model's manager, he'll be too busy for the next few months with fashion shows and prepping his album. Yes, his album. Oh, and let's not forgot all of the alone time he must give the Kaiser. Oop!

Henry Holland's New T-Shirt Line

London-based fashion designer Henry Holland, who first made his mark in 2006 with his sexually suggestive slogan tees featuring fashion industry alums, has managed to continue on the same tongue-in-cheek vein but with a new twist. Reminiscent of his previous line’s slogans such as “Do Me Daily Christopher Bailey”, the new t-shirt line features a list of names like Karl Lagerfeld, close friend Agyness Deyn, Donatella Versace and John Galliano in pen-drawn nude caricatures with strategically placed flower petals. The t-shirts are set to arrive in stores next year and cost around £75.
