EMMY
Say a happy birthday to Rachel Berry's cooler alter ego!
Lea Michele, born Lea Michele Sarfati, shot to stardom in 2009 thanks to the success of FOX musical dramedy Glee. We fell in love with Michele the minute we heard her character Rachel Berry belt out "On My Own" from Les Misérables during her audition.
Of course, the pitch-perfect triple threat didn't just luck into the coveted role, Lea Michele has been perfecting her chops on Broadway since she was 8 years old. Her breakout role was playing Wendla in Duncan Sheik's musical adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Spring Awakening.
Blessed with a whirlwind movie career, an unbelievable business swagger, and a sense of style so iconic she'll go down in fashion history among the likes of Coco Chanel and Jackie O, Sarah Jessica Parker can do it all. An accomplished actress from a young age, Parker is best known for her role as "Carrie Bradshaw" on Sex and the City, the hit TV series turned movie sequel, where she also served as executive producer.
Former president and chief creative officer for Halston Heritage (reports just surfaced that she will no longer be associated with the company), Golden Globe winner, Emmy winner, UNICEF representative, and former Gap spokeswoman make up a mere fraction of her credentials list. She also has a fragrance brand that grosses seven-figures a year as well as a clothing brand. If that weren't enough, Monolo Blahnik has named a shoe after her, the SJP.
Conan O'Brien is hungry for an Emmy! TBS, the network currently employing him, is campaigning for him to be nominated for an Emmy for "The Tonight Show" on NBC. The executives at TBS have sent this ad to all the major trades in hopes of getting support for him. This will undoubtedly piss off NBC. Hopefully he gets the nomination because it is well deserved.
Sarah Palin took a seat on Jay Leno's couch Tuesday night to chat and giggle and all that other nonsense guests do on late-night talk shows. Once the two were done catching up, Leno announced that Palin was going to make her "comedy debut" (apparently SNL doesn't count). The former Governor of Alaska took to the stage and performed a pretty decent stand-up routine. She joked about the things you'd expect: Alaska (it's so cold there it's "5 degrees below Congress' approval rating"), not being the vice president ("I would not know what to do with all that free time), and of course, Tina Fey ("I have been really busy, I've picked up a gig in Las Vegas, at the Legends show, playing Tina Fey.")
