New York Fashion Week is well underway and fashion enthusiasts everywhere have come eager to catch a glimpse of what’s in store for spring 2014. So far, we know that menswear will not disappoint. Channeling the essence of spring time bliss, collections like Bespoken and Ernest Alexander do their best to impress.
Ernest Alexander is an NYC based menswear brand best known for its tailoring and American made accessories. Inspired by "the essence of the midsummer nights in Venice", this past Tuesday, Ernest Alexander curated a spring collection of whimsical, finely tuned, and finely tailored menswear apparel. Noticeable trends like layering and colorful earth tones like muted olive are a big hit and take the cake when paired with bright pops of color and vibrant florals. Other prints and patterns including stripes and anchors were also in affect. The collection included everything from handsome suits and double-breasted blazers to outerwear. Glam Damnit's favorite look featured Justin (New York Models) in a grey and blue striped bomber paired with a light blue oxford button up, and olive chino, carrying a spice wax canvas overnight bag, styled by Micah Johnson. Classic in its execution, and unmistakably hip in its depiction, the Ernest Alexander collection for spring 2014 is a breezy mix of elegant tailoring and timeless style! Following the theme set by the clothing designed, head hair stylist Aaron Grenia of Prive Salon used surprisingly easy techniques that any guy can achieve at home using minimal products. Starting with Prive Volumizing Froth, Aaron used heat from a blow-dryer to get voluminous, textured hair. Using a comb, he created a double part for a look that is neat on the sides and messy on top, perfect for any occasion.
